using variables to make the sprite fall and move and jump and whatnot. If you want to learn more, I'd suggest downloading physics engines and looking at how they're made, asking many people about it, experimenting to see what works and what doesn't, and there may even be a tutorial for it. Try searching "sensor tutorial" and "physics tutorial." Hope that helps!
Well, I use a sensor, which is a sprite coloured differently in different areas, which is also at a ghost effect of 99, making it just about invisible. It senses which colours are touching the ground colour or some other colour, and then reacts accordingly. There are also other ways, like in cube world where the sensor is actually on the visible sprite (it's that grey line at the bottom). Or you could use many sprites to sense, and then you're not limited to colours. Other than that, it's just
He can teleport up straight up walls instantly W00T he'll get out of the mountain if he finds a single straight cliff! Or are you supposed to go DOWN to escape. The walking animation is still strange, but good programming.
I actually really like the walking animation, and thanks! In the game, he actually has to go up, then down, to get over the mountain and to the hot air balloon on the other side. If he went straight down he'd just fall!
This is a good engine and sprite, too badd it doesn't scroll. You drew that sprite huh? Nice! Its so hard for me to find sprites that animate well enough to include in my projects. I SUUUCCCKKK at drawing sprites
Still though, the still sprites are awesome. Hey, you're on right now? Also, running is just like walking, but the feet are more off the ground. I learned to walk with angryanimator.com. Maybe that will help.
convert all of the frames to a .gif. I don't know what platform you're on, but if you google search the name of your platform (windows, mac, etc...) and "gif converter" or something like that, you should probably find one.
if you call unrealistic physics when you in the air a glitch, then theres 1. I.e. you can jump going left at a speed, then turn in mid air, and start going in the direction.
Well that's good then! I have more friends than usual I think, because I switched schools, and then next year I'm continuing to a 7-8 school that my old school also goes in to. The downside are that there are also more people than normal that hate me. (Then again, that might have something to do with the fact that the king of the popular kids hates me)
Why does the website do that? Oh well, I guess you can't expect something as amazing as scratch to work perfectly. Anyway, be friends with the people at your church!
Thanks! You really think it could pass as a flash game? Thank you! Also, having it said to be well scripted from the legendary 08jackt is a huge honour! Thank you so much!
Answer to overworked question: No, i mean taking peoples avatars, and turning them into sprites, i can make sprites into avatars though, but it would take a lot longer.
I don't really know. Flash I think includes everything, or at least according to my friend who has it. THe other one was called publisher, no wait, that's that microsoft thing my other friend talks about... I forget.

The only way I can think of would be to open the animation in your program thing, and then whether it's a command, or done manually, save each individual frame to a specified location, and then import them in to a scratch project.
Thanks! I think it's probably my best sprite ever (not meaning it's really good, but meaning all my others are worse ^_^). I should make a new avatar. Anyway, thanks! I tried doing requests once, but I have so much homework, plus my own projects, that requests just don't work for me. Oh well. Thanks again!
Same here, usually. I'm really not sure what happened. Oh well. I didn't really like that menu anyway, and I thought of a new feature that would be impossible to implement with the menu I had, without actually deleting everything and starting over. Unfortunately, it's top secret, so I can't tell you yet.
It has a lot of unnecessary coding, and I can't find where the variable/broadcast is that starts the game. I'm going to import a couple of the sprites, and then start over I think.
This is the engine I will be using for Escape From Floating Mountain. Yes, I did draw that sprite, and would appreciate if you gave me credit if you used it, as well as a link to what you made here so I can see it.

What do you think?

Oh, almost forgot. Left and right arrow keys to move, up arrow to jump.

wow! this helped a lot!
for what?
(view all replies)Nice man! As always, it's great!
Thanks!
Cool
I have a question for you:I'm making a project like Free Rider 2. How can I name it? Reply it on Classical Car Race Game. Thanks!! ;-)
This is pretty nice, can you show me how to make a physics engine?

you have such a talent for creating awesome talents
lol I ment to say "awesome engines" :p
(view all replies)Nice walking animation!
Thanks! I really like it.
It's the opposite of real life. He goes up slopes FASTER than down!
It's a game. It's not supposed to be exactly like real life.

Pretty cool. He goes up hills fast. OH MAH GOD! My mouse is moving to the left on it's own! Oh it stopped.
I've had that happen before. Never did find out why the mouse was moving. Anyway, he's a fast hill climber. lol. Thanks!
cool
Thanks! Glad you like it!

(view all replies)ah, I see. I can't wait!
lolz. Have u been on all this time, or are you just getting on now? Before I was on during free time in the comp. lab at my school.
(view all replies)nah, not a big fan of sonic personally. Maybe someone will remix it. It doesn't have velocity, but the full version does have scrolling.
(view all replies)Still though, the still sprites are awesome. Hey, you're on right now? Also, running is just like walking, but the feet are more off the ground. I learned to walk with angryanimator.com. Maybe that will help.
(view all replies)Nice! And how do you make a changing logo?
then you change your icon, and as the new one you choose the .gif

(view all replies)Nice engine, the graphics are very good too.
Thanks Kgordon!

(view all replies)Don't worry about markyparky56 FoxDur he doesn't say anything good about any projects.
(view all replies)I don't. Just because I don't care doesn't mean I'm not aware though. I have to know who to care what they say!

(view all replies)I found no glitches, but maybe the jumping could be faster, I mean, Floating Mountain isn't on the moon! Or is it?
I think I'll keep it like it is
cool!!
Thanks! Unfortunately, it doesn't work so well when I add the scrolling.
I agree with "The-Whiz": No glitches!
Awesome! Unfortunately, that changes when I add the scrolling and the menu and everything. Thanks though!
really greatly scripted! could pass of as a flash game if it was on another web site :) love the sprite!
Thanks! You really think it could pass as a flash game? Thank you! Also, having it said to be well scripted from the legendary 08jackt is a huge honour! Thank you so much!
No glitches!
Thanks! Hooray!

(view all replies)I didn't try to. I think the website sometimes posts things twice
(view all replies)I don't really know. Flash I think includes everything, or at least according to my friend who has it. THe other one was called publisher, no wait, that's that microsoft thing my other friend talks about... I forget.

Nice! I think I'm going to save up and get the adobe pack with flash, photoshop, and that other thing
(view all replies)wow! that's great! simple, but perfect.
Thanks Kizel623!
where did you get the sprite? or did you make it?
(view all replies)Ok, sure!
(view all replies)Really? Wow, I'll have to try that!

(view all replies)It works well.
(view all replies)There are other things as well, such as cheats... but those are secret.

(view all replies)It has a lot of unnecessary coding, and I can't find where the variable/broadcast is that starts the game. I'm going to import a couple of the sprites, and then start over I think.
(view all replies)I didn't find any glitch. it works pretty pretty good. cool!!
Thanks! I'm glad you didn't find a glitch!
it works just fine for me
ok, awesome!
