may I use this to enhance the responsiveness of my new raise a ribble 2 game? -you can check out the first if you want (sorry for minor advertising...)
Sure, you can use it! One thing you should know though, if you're going to use it for more than one thing, you might want to change the dragging and modifierx and modifiery variables to private. Maybe I'll do that in the next update. In any case, sure, use it. I'd just like credit for the dragging. Thanks!
Oh, I see now. I know how to fix it. It still won't work if others are involved, but with 2 foxdurs it will. (will work that is) One second, I'll update it
Yeah, I KNOW. The point of this was that I was going to use that in my photo browser, but the one on scratch makes it go to front, and I couldn't have that, because of the controls. For other places where for whatever reason you can't use the lock, or you want to be able to change whether it can be dragged by a variable, then people could use this.
Well, you have to have it as a .gif file, then you choose it like any other image. So far the only software I know that makes .gif is pixen, for mac. But there are tons of others out there, just google gif editor or something.
Yeah, but if you actually read the notes, I made this because unlocking it makes it go to the front when being dragged, oh and here, you can change whether it's draggable or not with a variable. I used it in photo browser, because I needed it to be sometime draggable and sometimes not, and I couldn't have it going to front over the menu.
Nice. I'm planning to do stuff like this, creating scripts and sprits for other people to use. I've been making sprits for quite a wile be I stoped recently because I had no more ideas for "Animated Scratch Cats" :(
Ah, I see. This was just random. I was going around the scratch site, and saw way to many projects with the one that I call "average" in this project. So I opened scratch with the idea of making a decent dragging engine, and here it is!
UPDATE 4: Removed no slip dragging one, added another FoxDur so you can see how two work together.
UPDATE 3: Press space to see the scripts.
UPDATE 2: I fixed the glitch where if you dragged another over the foxdur one it would go with it as well. Now it still glitches if you drag the foxdur on top of another, but if you drag another on top of the foxdur or you have multiple foxdurs, it works just fine.
UPDATE: I added two more to compare against. The one called "FoxDur" is mine, the one called "regular" is the average, and the one called "regular (with no slip dragging)" Is regular, but with my other new addition, which means that no matter how fast you go you don't lose it.
This is a simple dragging engine I decided to try to make, because I have seen way to many where the sprite goes to the mouse pointer, regardless of where you started to drag it.
I know you could accomplish this by unlocking a sprite, but that would make it go to the front when it's being dragged, which you don't always want.
Feel free to use this in your own projects, that's what I made it for. I would appreciate a comment though, so I can see what you made!

wus this hard to make cuz i think its pretty simple
No, not really. It was just because I had seen a lot of people do it terribly
It would. Drag one (that ISN'T the Foxdur one) onto the Foxdur one. It still happens
Ok, finally done all the updates
(view all replies)Oh, I didn't update the image of the scripts, my bad. Sorry for all these replies; oh well. I'll have to update that image of the script.
Oh, my mistake. It would work dragging another on to a foxdur, not the other way around. I think the new one is up now.

P.S. Click one then drag it to another for a glitch
That wouldn't happen if they were all foxdur ones.
You don't need it, there's a REALLY easy dragging engine, see a lock picture where the sprites name shows up? Click it and its draggable. A lot easier

I'm going to guess that the first script is yours?
Actually, looking back on that, it's not mine. Anyone can use it. I first made it, but it's not copyright or anything.
The one called foxdur? Yeah. Then the regular with no slip dragging is half mine half average, and the regular is just the one I see way to much
Congrats on Photobrowser!
Really? Wow
oh, you mean congrats on getting featured! Thanks!
(view all replies)Huh? Thanks Anyway!
(view all replies)I like your "draggable" the best!
Hmm, I don't know. Oh wait, I remember now. Try clearing your cache.

(view all replies)"thanks!" lol (hopefully the "s will confuse the spam filter)
theres yet another one though. Scratchs own
Yes, but the point of this was to replicate that without it going to front.
(view all replies)Cool cam.
(view all replies)Huh? What do you mean?
(view all replies)Interesting... I I sort of like the idea... >_>
Cool, thanks.
its at the top of the sprite section shaped like a lock

(view all replies)Or you could click the button "Dragable on website".
huh? what button?
