A demo of one way to display something like "Health". The Health bars are "Stamped" based on two Global Variables that you can control in the demo using sliders. To use in a project, you would "broadcast" the message that pressing "spacebar" does in this demo. The bars rely on stamping the background color over the existing stamps when it's time to "remove health". This demo leaves the text in place, but could be modified to "stamp" over that as well if desired.
