EdnaC i downloaded this and erased all the scripts and also changed the background and erased all the sprites took the triplane sprite and then (in the same window without saying new) and then i made a game engine (my own scripts) that simulates the size change by the altitude and so when i uploaded it it said origenly by u so people might think i copied u (i didn't i thought up the scripts and made them) so could u go there on mine and say that i didn't copy u, even if nobody's said anything (yet) so for future refrence could u tell them i just took the sprite (i did say i got the sprite from u too)
I modeled the planes in 3d using a CAD system, then wrote a macro that rotated the model and took screen-shots. (I cheated!) Usually I try to stick to the Scratch editor. It may be quite a while till I get back to finishing this one; I'm currently working on a scrolling space simulator.
The Baron has definite limits on the allowed "maneuvers", my intent is to make an arcade style game, and my patience with editing sprites is being pressed by this project. I'll put some work into making the "reverse Immelman" easier, after that the focus will be the "map" and AI opponents. How to have the AI handle 3 "flight levels" will take some thinkin.
There is acually a Scratch flight "sim" out there, check out: (link to project)
This is fantastic! Really nice animation. I was able to do the Immelman but not a barrel roll. I love flight simulators...I never thought I'd see one in Scratch!
Download the 10 sprites and 37 scripts of "RedBaron" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
Preliminary Upload to test online performance.
RedBaron will eventually get more terrain and a "mission".
Arrow keys to turn, Down Arrow to "Pull Back" on the stick, Up Arrow to "Push" the stick.
Hold "Back" to loop, if you ease off on the stick, the Baron will level off. If you do this near the top of the loop, he'll perform an "Immelman".
"Down" stick will send the Baron into a dive, he'll level off on his own.
"Down" and "Left" (Up Arrow AND Left Arrow) will initiate a roll and half-loop (the opposite of an Immelman).
Flight is restricted to three "flight levels"
15 Mar 08: Work begins on "enemy".
16 Mar 08: Space to "shoot"
18 Mar 08: Enemy now shoots back

How about a version for red-blue 3D glasses?
Great plane graphics here! How did you do these?
this is really cool
its so cool

Awesome work!

how you get it to look so 3-d
fantasit. can"t wait till u make a game of it
The enemy is now shooting back!
Added "altimeters", and now the Redbaron can push "space" to shoot.
Very nice graphics.
Really nice plane graphics. The controls are very satisfying.

Thanx! Lots of work still remains. I just realized that the plane needs to move slower when it is at lower altitude to look "right".
this is cool a flight simulator practically
