If you run the Animation you will see how it works. Then you can press play and cut out the pieces and make your own designs. They are like geometrical flowers. You need to be a little patient!
And, despite ffred's high opinion, I suspect that I am merely mortal. His work (and yours) show far more attention to detail and creativity than mine. But I do enjoy tinkering in Scratch! Have you checked out Chalkmarrow's work yet? His stuff is really great as well. http://scratch.mit.edu/users/Chalkmarrow
Thanks. Will do. My goal is to make a lot of fun projects with Math and Science content and get them into the classrooms. I used to give talks at NCTM(National Council of Math Teachers) and may have to go back and Scratchalize the teachers;=<Fernando and I are discussing how best this can be done. I have asked for a club also.
Thanks. I appreciate your comments very much. I have to check out your work in detail before I can demote you to the Mortal status. Fernando said "Paddle2See is God. He's everywhere and knows everything" ;=> I will checkout Chalkmarrow for sure. Getting eye balls is a problem in Scratch like the real World;=< Any suggestions.
This is amazing! The animation is beautifully done with great detail. The story is fascinating and the game is fun to play with as well. Most impressive!
Dear Goch we have formed an informal group for now, with ffred and dapontes to collaborate to create fun and exciting math and science games and activities that can be used in the classroom and at home. As you good with game that involve thinking and reasoning we want you to join in! We will decide how to create the group etc. Please send me an email and say that you are intrested;=>We need music in these. Good music like yours. baghevli2@worldbank.org
Dear Scratch coordinator for scratch-clubs,
I would like to start a club for developing Math and Science activities in particular for Elementary and Middle Grades. How should I go about it? Is there such a Forum already. I have seen a thread in the forum but I hope to organize a group consisting of innovative math and science people with the best of the game makers to develop games and activities with substantial content that will knock the socks off the kids. Then to have the group advertise.
It seems it has the same problem that Susa II. Actually, we can drag the saw only once. After that, the saw moves no more. I’ve rebuild my “Puzzle” to avoid a dragging problem, when the version 1.2 came. I learnt with Paddle2See a good way to perform dragging. Download it or the Paddles’ Pictures without Hands.
the only suggestion i can think of at the moment is that when you click print you should only see what is inside the border as this would make it look better.
Very clear and complete presentation and training about a beautiful and cultural subject. I think it would be featured and I would like to press “love it” again, if it was possible. By the way, you messed the word “Erase” at 1st line of the tools board.
Thanks I am on vacation;=>I apprecitae the comments very much. Specially coming from you. Will correct the error. I would love for it to be featured;=>I do not know how we can get more eye balls. Scratch people are looking to fix a bug that I is in both this application and Susa II. Did you play Susa? Do it you will like it. Cha
I like it.It is a great project .I like "the presentation" :Animation, History. It 's one of the best on SCRATCH.I made a project CARPET , have you see it ?
I was wondering whether you would like to be part of my gallery; (link to gallery) we really need new members. It is a gallery where you can add your own project but are expected to comment on other projects in the gallery.
Thanks bigB just cut the Triangle bundle instead of the Hexagon bundle. They are fixing the bug as the saw does not drag from the scratch site download nd it will be a lot better. Please comment on how I can improve it.
have you ever come across patchwork and or quilting..
the designs can be even more complex than the ones you are showing here.. plus the activity has political/social implications..
Your work is amazing! The rugs also have very intresting designs. I will look into these. Khatam is at the root of the tessellations and Pattern Blocks that are now used in schools in America for linking mathematics and art. I am on vacation will check out your work in detail (to study and learn from) when I get back.
Download the 78 sprites and 293 scripts of "Khatam" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
Let Scratchie show you how Persian Khatam (original inlaid tessellation) are made. Then make your own Khatam frames and put your pictures in them or make your own designs and print them. A great activity for home and school, the possibilities are endless and beautiful. I borrowed the menu idea and buttons from the_Guardian. Thanks Guardian you rock.
