hmm, normally I'd use a variable... but I guess if you're just doing it for the heck of it, it doesn't really matter, but a variable would be helpful if you needed to know in other scripts/sprites online or offline. I use: GREEN FLAG clicked: Set "online?" to 0 || change "online?" by: ((0/0)+1) | but I've seen other ways to do it.
Oh I get it. If you are offline it sees that you are trying to do something not allowed (0/0=error), but if you are online it doesn't care and keeps going.
i get it! the online version would just skip the change X by 0/0 while scratch would say that there was an error and would not continue with the script!
Dazachi,I have a really big problem that i'm sending out to all of the ESI members: whether or not we should continue working on Darklight. You can find more details and reply your thoughts here (link to forums)
Well for some reason, offline Scratch can't understand this problem, but online it does. I just accidently found it.
So I guess I didn't really explain, but I sort of gave you the main idea. I hope. :)

What!
Guys, I wouldn't be surprised if this didn't work. It's from nearly 2 years ago.
Great script! And as of today, it stills works (I tested it on Safari + Firefox).
wait no not possible
wait i get it IF THERE IS NO MOUSE SCRIPT THEN YOU ARE ONLINE IF THERE IS A MOUSE SCRIPT YOU ARE OFFLINE!!!
Hey you have to be online to see it if you did not download it!!!!!
The thing with divide-by-0 checks is that it cancels turbo speed.
u can force a download with this? How?
WTH you can't divide by zero!
exactly
id use this when flag clicked: say:offline, if 0/0=i am cool* *put nothing in the if box* say:online
Lol. :)

There are many ways.
I saw someone else who had it just with a variable, but this works too, it's pretty epic.
Yeah, there are some easier ways.
Lol i'm gonna make where if you download it it'll say: HEY NO DOWNLOADING
Haha! And no, I'm not being sarcastic.
(view all replies)Sure!
(view all replies)you can also make a script that only works offline by starting it with "When I recieve Scratch-StartCLicked"
Yeah, there are many different ways how you can.
Oh I get it. If you are offline it sees that you are trying to do something not allowed (0/0=error), but if you are online it doesn't care and keeps going.
Yep. That is how.
I don't get it...
What don't you get???
(view all replies)I don't get it.
Online, it ignores it, but offline, it can tell something is wrong.
(view all replies)What don't you get?
(view all replies)i get it! the online version would just skip the change X by 0/0 while scratch would say that there was an error and would not continue with the script!
Exactly!
(view all replies)i have a other way (link to project) to find out the script download it!
Interesting...
(link to project) also works!
I all ready knew that one. You can also just use the play sound thing replacing the motion block. Simple as that. :)
It no work. =[
Hmmm, that is strange.
Yes it does. :)
(view all replies)HEY, YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS: (link to project) BECAUSE ITS A BIT MORE THAN AN ONLINE TESTER!
Wow!
thanks!
For what?
there's many of these around scratch, but they use complicated scripting with lists. this is quick and easy to remember
You can also use play sound for the background
This works better than the other online sencers I see. :) nice job!
You can also use the play sound block.
EPIC
XD
Lol!
(view all replies)Epic thank you. :)
(view all replies)I don't get it.
:)
Online, the player just ignores that it is impossible, but offline it stops the script. Get it now?
(view all replies)Woah! That is awesome!! I'll bet this is going to (and it already does) have a LOT of downloads.
Thank you! XD
Wow! I just realized. This is my most popular project!
so what, it interprets it as zero online, but offline it gives you an error and stops the script?
this has many uses.(like forced download muwahaha) Your time will come to use this my friend.
Yeah.
Genius! :)
Glad you like it!

Glad you do. :)
lol, nice idea :D
Thank you!
Nice discovery! :)
Thanks!
Nice-we could use this to prevent Darklight from being downloaded(as if-that would give us bad reviews!).
Oh, ok. Lol.
Oh, please don't use it to have people not play the project.
(view all replies)Wow, this is way simpler than the old versions - Awesome! :D
Yep. :P
Your banner is ready (link to forums)
Checking it out.
Oooo goodie!
Lol. I hope you find a good use for it.
Very clever. This would explain how people used "0/0" to prevent people from using their downloaded source.
I see. Well I'm fine with people not wanting people to play there projects online, but not letting people see there project's code is mean.
Have people used it before for that reason?
(view all replies)i'm confused. what is this?
It test if you are online or offline. The other way was more confusing, but this way is very easy.
when you online it says you are offline then says your online?
Click the green flag. :)
Crazy! 9 views in 4 minutes!
I've always wondered... why does this work? Could you explain it to me?
Your welcome!
