This is supposed to simulate how an interference pattern forms due to diffraction. some of the physics and mathematics may not be exactly right, but here is how it works: you can press space key at any time to create a blank photographic film. the pen size will reset to 20 whenever you do this. Drag the small reddish dot, which is the pinhole where light diffracts from, to a new place. it is easier to see if you clear the background. adjust the frequency of the light you will let in. Click the green flag to start letting light through the hole and adding exposure to the film. Due to quantum effects, the photons go to random locations, and the amount of interference due to diffraction correlates to the distance from the pinhole opening through a sine-based function, because the light of the waves is a sine-wave harmonics thing and the phase of the wave depends on the distance. The individual placement of a photon does not matter very much or say much. but the clustering of brighter photons creates a pattern. have fun!
