I figured out how to convert Flash files to animated gif!!!!! Here is a flash preloader from NG (Newgrounds) minus the loader bar and play button. I also included a song in there that I got from Newgrounds as well. It is nice that all music put there is released under the creative commons share-alike liscense, cause that means I can use the music here! Sorry bout any lag if you download, there are 250 costumes to this animation.......primarily the spinning bars. Enjoy! Just posting this so people know I have not left, in case they did not see my other project. Song is "{RUNAWAY}" by DaGrahamCracka.

Nice Cyclone. This shows the huge limitations of scratch perfectly. If Scratch could make something like a SWF file do lessen the MB's, and then not use Java, the lag would be lessened and we could fit more than 10MB's on each project.

(view all replies)Yes, just make your animation on the main timeline for as many frames as are in it, as a keyframe, and change the publish settings to a gif, and publish it into any folder. Then, drag it into scratch.

Flash? Free? LOL!!!!!!!! I wish!!!!!!!! I payed over $200 for a package, flash alone is 700, with a student discount its 250, and with the package without the student discount I got is over $1000....... and the file for all my stuff is MASSIVE!!!!!! Still, its really worth it. Buying flash was a great idea!

(view all replies)If you have flash, just make your animation, make sure it is on the main TL for as many frames as are in the animation, set the publish settings to gif, and animate it, and leave the rest defaults, drag it into scratch, and add an animation script.

Uh, I can only turn a flash into a gif if I actually have it on my computer. Without being able to download it, there is nothing I can do. Sorry!

? What do you mean? What tutorials? Teh flash to gif? To convert all frames in teh clip to keyframes, find the max number of animated frames in any object, then go to the main timeline, select the max number of frames for the object, in this case 250, cause teh background was 250, you can select them with shift and click, that lets ya select more than one, right click, and select "convert to keyframe" convert it, and do the rest of the tutorial. No dragging!

? CS3 works perfectly. Are you sure you are giving them the SWF file? You might be giving them the .fla file instead.

Oh, this is what you meant by Flash to gif. It would be simple, but exporting to GIF only animates the main timeline.

Use IMG tags, but you have to have the pic on a website first.

I made it by converting a flash file into a gif. Just make the movie, make sure it appears in as many frames of the timeline as there are fames in the clip, change the publish settings, publish it as a gif, and drag it into scratch.
