Good work, Chris.
I had been attempting to make a calculator before, but when I saw yours, it made my pitiful project look even worse.
I'd love to see a scientific scratchlet calculator. Perhaps you may have one in the works.
Zarth
you should make it do three numbers! THX i needed a calculator for my math homework! i will post if it came up with the correct product tomorrow! ~ till then PIG OUT!
BUT IT IS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, But, anyway, check mine.
that's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd love to do things like that myself but I'm not the most advanced, I think I'm pretty good but compared with the calculator I'm nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you talking about publicizing the scripts? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you. But Scratch has been updated, and the digits run on a 1.3 version block system. With new 1.4 blocks, the digits can be easily reprogrammed to do the same in a much smaller script.
@Chrischb Great work... I've looked at how long it took you in the comments. Its good for 2 weeks! Lordy lord did you have to program it all in or is there some calculator script? If so can you message me? -king chese
Download the 26 sprites and 206 scripts of "Calculator" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
Finally! I've been working hard to make a proper calculator. It can add, subtract, multiply, and divide any two numbers, and show you the result as long as it's not too long. If it has more than eight digits, it will show an E. Same thing if your number is less than -99999999. And if you divide, and your result has too many decimal digits, it'll will show another E. (Don't be afraid to try big numbers!)
Note to all: I've been bombarded with the question: "How long did this take you?". The answer is: Two weeks.
Note to all: You may run into a few bugs, like if you do 69 divided by 4 for example. Don't think it's a bug if it says E----1725. I checked it by downloading, and it said the right answer- 17.25. But you can still use it online if you don't mind.

This works very nicely. I love it.
Neat!
Wow Well made
Thanks! It's not every day you see a sudden compliment like that. :)

I don't have one... but Kevin_Karplus has a cool one. I'm not sure what it is exactly, though.
thank you
Really? Oh! :)
(view all replies)Thanks for what?
(view all replies)epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT NOW HOW DO I DO MY HOMEWORK /W DECIMALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Online is nice. :P
(view all replies)I could suggest some suitable calculators, but I'm not really for using them on homework. Sorry.
(view all replies)Can i make a request?
I can't draw pigs very well... try googling it for some free pictures.
(view all replies)What is it?
(view all replies)btw may i put this in my gallery and remix it?
And galleries are fine too. ;)
Remix as you like!
you should make it do three numbers! THX i needed a calculator for my math homework! i will post if it came up with the correct product tomorrow! ~ till then PIG OUT!
Try dividing. If the answer has too many decimal digits, it will display a 99999999. I tried to make it do better, but the scripts wouldn't read. :/
(view all replies)Because it's not completely accurate.
(view all replies)Advisable sort of means "recommended". I was saying that I don't recommend using this on your math homework.
(view all replies)Good luck on your math homework... though I'm not sure if it's entirely advsiable to use this calculator. :P
(view all replies)nice who ever made this
cool!
nicely done
106th person to love it
Hmm, I wonder what's up with all the "___ person to love it" stuff. I'm not complaining, though. :P
EPIC
good job
very well done. :) Maybe you could put in decimal equations? For example, 3.5 + 3.5 = 7
yea good idea i thought that aswell also it should do like 2 + 3 + 4
amazing!
W-O-W
101st person to love it :)
wow, it's boring but it must have been hard to make.
Amazing, but ugly calculator
Yes, it is rather ugly.
(view all replies)cool, this must have taken a lot of experience to mke
It was my first, but I had to do a lot of expirementing to get there.
ohhh cool! i wonder how u did this!?
Just start with the input, and build from there. :)
O.K.
cool see mine 46 digit scientific (link to project)
AWESOME!!!!!
AWESSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
you forgot the E (not that it matters)
(view all replies)COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
you forgot the L
(view all replies)i have one too (link to project) this one inspired me a long time ago
im the 100th lovit! cool i have a calculator project to: (link to project)
Congratulations! The award for the 100th loveit goes to... *drum roll* AAAAAWINNERGLT! *loud applause*
(view all replies)was it very dificult
Not really, once I got into it.
Really cool! Though this has been made several times on scratch before it is great too see another good Math scratch project!
The more projects, the more variety and selection. :)
(view all replies)Cool
Great
wow
i made a calculator once but it wasnt as good as this
NICE!!!
It actually looks like a real calculator!!
But the buttons are wrongly spaced. XD
This is project is...AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'l use this for the math prove in school, hauhuahuahuuhuahuuhauhuauhuhuahuhuauhauhuhua, sorry, so sorry, If you don't like, but i'm 9 years old.
wait WHAT!!?!?!?!
(view all replies)BUT IT IS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, But, anyway, check mine.
Mine calculator needs scripts of (O + O) or (O x O) , Etc. in the "Say: ___, And then will be: "Say: (5 x 5), When press SPACE.
Works better than my real calclater
I'm glad you think so, but you're wrong. This doesn't have decimal points, and divison problems with many decimal digits don't show up.
that's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd love to do things like that myself but I'm not the most advanced, I think I'm pretty good but compared with the calculator I'm nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!
The program is so confusing! But nice calculator.
Mathematics and fractals are neat! I'll check it out.
(view all replies)I like to respond to people. :)
(view all replies)The scripts, or the actual project? I think both. :D
(view all replies)your cool
nice, needs off button that makes screen blank.... but.... AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Off buttons are nice, but there's no need for one. At least there's the Clear button for resetting the display.
Cool
Can you be my friend.
(view all replies)I cant program it to count by 100s
Yes, that is one of the problems with it. It can't handle continuous use of the = button, so you have to repeatedly input it manually.
This is a nice Project.
wwwwwwooooooooowwwwwwwwww this is awsome!
cool
thats cool
This data should be advisory to other scratch members, it is a proving information in programming.

Two weeks is fine when you work everyday and enjoy it. :)
Well, I had to make the scripts myself... but I had a bit of help on one of the forumlas, though.
cooool
An apology for the badly formatted project notes. It places too many lines.
Fixed now.
