Another way to get past Dracula is to press the stop button when he's not doing anything. If you time it right, he'll just be in a float sprite, not a dark beam or dark lightning sprite, and you'll have all the time you need to get past.
The screen after that is the final one, so the stop button being pressed won't affect anything. You'll still get the final screen without any negative effects.
