Hi BoltBait.
I'm going to use this in an upcoming Doody RPG I'm making so the project knows that you can't save a game in the online Java player, so you have to download the project in order to save a game.
Hey, BoltBait, I was trying to use this in an upcoming project (so that people playing online would be told by Rick Astley to download it), but when I tried to upload a test, my Mac crashed. Twice. However, I do think this is a wonderful project, I just want to know if it's he script that killed my computer.
I seriously doubt that is the case. Something else is probably going on. Good luck. (BTW, go easy on the Rick Astley, that meme is really getting old.)
If you don't understand how the script works, download the project, go to Stage, scroll all the way to the right, and read the comment attached to the script.
And if I changed this a bit I could make it where only certain people can access projects, or projects extra (admin) features (like give them extra stuff for example.
Nice! Always nice to have a few backup bugs to resort to for online and offline testing. :) BTW thanks for telling me itchy's method it helped alot on one of my games.
Because of my Pyramid Solitaire project (link to project) where I had coded it offline. Once I uploaded it to the web, it stopped working. I distilled it down to this very specific issue (shortcut OR evaluation). I fixed the issue and uploaded that game, then I made this project to showcase the error. Hopefully, you find it useful.
This is an easy way to see if your project is running on the web site ("Online") or in the development environment ("Off-line").
Tested with Scratch 1.4 release and the online player v37.
Why would you need that information? Well, the timing is different between the two environments so you can detect where your project is playing and adjust timing events or maybe you could just be mean and not let your project run if it has been downloaded!
This is the second time I've made a project like this. The first one doesn't work anymore since the scratch team fixed the bug in the online player. Let's see how long it takes them to fix this one. ;)
NOTE: If you don't understand what this project does, you don't need to know... just move on... nothing to see here... try one of my games instead.

I used it for my Wii simlution, Look up at my stuff! I don't want to spam!
Does it work with icons?
When downloaded, when the list shows, when you play, a cause of a error happens.
Yes, that is exactly how this works.
Wow! i tested both and the answer was correct!
cool good idea with the downloadstuff =D
awesome!

Sounds like a great use for it!
The one that is running in the player is the projcet, not me.
this is very useful if the scratch team doesn't fix this :)
?what do you do?
In online scratch cat will say you are on the online, but download, scratch cat will say you is in scratch.

I still don't get how it works, though.

This is going to help me in the Battle Colloseum Project i would like if u would like to help a trailer is here (link to project)
this helps!
(link to project) Here is my online sensor. It's very simple.
It is always best to have multiple ways to do this as the Scratch team fixes these bugs once in a while.

IT WORKS!OMG AWESOME!

Fascinating! How did you know that lists could detect whether or not a project is running online?!
