it's fake, I downloaded it and looked at it's scripts when flag clicked switch into background [Instructions]
when [space] key pressed next background wait {18} secs next background
First off, Henley, possessive "its" has no apostrophe.
Secondly, I don't understand what you mean. It cycles through two versions of each background-- one the negative image, and one the black and white image, which, if viewed in order, will give the black and white image the illusion of being in color.
Do you sort of get it now?
ethanwm, it's pretty simple. When you stare at an image, specifically a bright one, you 'tire out' that color in your eyes--in other words, your eyes adjust to accept the color of that image. Like if you were to wear orange ski goggles for a few hours, things start looking more normal as you have them on. And when you take them off, everything looks blue! You're seeing a negative of the image. It's the aftereffect. Pretty neat, huh?
Haha, of course I know how to do it, music_man. I made the pictures! (I did a Google image search of colorful, scenic images and picked the ones that I thought would work the best for this illusion. I did the inverted colors/increased saturation and total desaturation in Photoshop.)
Haha, yeah, I saw the castle illusion years ago (on ebaumsworld, I believe), and that's basically where I got this idea from! But I really like the idea of counting the thirty seconds using a sound effect--it builds up the suspension so much better, and it doesn't startle the viewer when the image changes (like mine)! Nice job!
Yes, the castle illusion IS stronger, and it lasts slightly longer, too. That's because you look at the image for nearly twice the length of time you look at these! This is only 18 seconds; the castle one is for 30. I increased the saturation to compensate for my shortened time, that's all.
Oh, yeah. That's basically the image I saw a few years ago that gave me the idea for this project. (It's a great idea, I've got to say!) Yeah, I didn't want to make the viewer stare for too long so that they got bored, so I just increased the saturation of the negative image to make the illusion stronger without having to look at it for as long.
I had seen something like this on the internet a long time ago, and I felt like taking a few minutes to recreate its effect through Scratch.
Enjoy!! =D

Nice! I love when people take my ideas! I actually took the Castle illusion idea from another website and implemented it in Scratch :)
