About your comment about scratch as a programming language. I don't really consider scratch as an actual language because it so different from traditional lanuages. Sure you can make all sorts of programs with it but you can't save the code in a text file. I consider scratch to be more of a program for creating programs. Thats just my opinion though.
I see your point, and I do agree with you. Though it's certainly debatable. Now, I used to see Scratch as a "fake" programming language, but I've since changed my opinion. Scratch uses all the essential tools required to write a program through computational thinking-- the only significant difference is that it's based off blocks, not text. It makes programming look simple... but when you think about it, writing in Scratch requires all the core concepts needed for writing any program.
Well, as a 'journalist' (which is the goal of this project-- to give an example of one way to tell a 'story'), I'm not entitled to put any of my own opinions into the piece; I have to be completely neutral and treat the candidates equally. (...Having said that, I'm voting for Obama.)
A sample project demonstrating one of the many ways to tell a story in Scratch.
It's REALLY simple. Mouse over the candidates after selecting them for them to say something!
NOTE: This project was mostly made as a template for other ways to tell a story or describe some things... so feel free to get any ideas from it!
