InvaderMik InvaderMik 1 year, 3 months ago

No, if we last long enough the sun will turn into a red giant, and swell until it burns up the inner planets. No crashing involved. You were close enough.

Of course, SLIGHTLY, we're emerging from an ice age, the temperatures are returning to normal.

I say: 'lets go and live on mars'

henley henley 1 year, 3 months ago

oh plz theres not enough gravity there to keep air clinched to the planet! and keep us *literaly* in our shape! the less gravity we have the more our body de-forms so mars and all other planets are not going to work but a 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 long and wide space ship WOULD be a squeeze for ALL of us so not sure we can escape earth at all...

WILL EVERYONE SHUT UP AND LISTEN? Yes we are coming out of a small ice age. But we are warming up TOO FAST! The Earth isn't having time to adapt and things aren't evolving quick enough! If the Earth was warming up slowly, like it should be, then things will have time to adapt, and change. No, the Earth won't explode, but if we keep pumping Co2 in to the atmosphere, then eventually, Earth will get to the same temperature as Venus (which is over 400 C). I know all this because I am nerd, so there!

(view all replies)
InvaderMik InvaderMik 1 year, 3 months ago

Sort of, but even if we are pumping all of this into the atmosphere, history shows us how this might turn out. Scientists say that millions of years ago (millions? too many) the tree and plants absorbed CO2 and decayed under ground into oil. We burn this oil and release the captured CO2. Everything we burn was there before, nothing like Venus.

To everyone who dissed me: I believe (and, if you will, KNOW) that global warming is a political and economic lie. I still think pollution is horrible, and litter is also bad, I agree that we have a water crisis, and that we are running out of eEarth-bound energy options. So, just because I believe (and KNOW) that global warming is false, doesn't mean I'm a brainless, no good, heartless idiot.

the poles arnt goin to melt, because permafrost never melts.

InvaderMik InvaderMik 1 year, 3 months ago

Permafrost melts when exposed to sunlight. The poles are melting, but we aren't doing it. They've melted before and we can't stop it. Humans don't command ice.

littlebunnylover littlebunnylover 1 year, 3 months ago

the poles have already STARTED melting, due to global warming.

A lot of scientists don't even believe it exists

Robotsrule Robotsrule 1 year, 3 months ago

1st problem is that if put all this $ to stop GB - global warming, it won't change it enough to stop it. If we put the same amount of $ to helping people with malaria, we could same thousands of lives. 2nd, the only reason there isn't a debate about it GB exists is because if a scientist says anything against it he looses his job. 3rd didn't just some 30 years ago we say that we were going into global cooling. BTW, they tell you the death caused from heat has gone up but the cold death is down!

Good, although, CFC gases that deplete the ozone layer are now banned for use in aerosol cans.

InvaderMik InvaderMik 1 year, 3 months ago

We recycle to conserve resources, not necessarily to save energy. If we don't recycle, it will be an easy shortcut, but in the future, it's really going to hurt us when we run out of resources (and space to throw away things). THAT is why it's important. Hope this clarifies a little bit for you guys! --And I really hope this gets you interested in taking an initiative in your schools to start energy conservation and/or recycling programs! You guys are our future. You all can make the difference.

BATzerk BATzerk 1 year, 3 months ago

Also, while I'm up on my soapbox here, I'd also like to clarify this: Recycling DOES take more energy than throwing things in the garbage. So why recycle? Well, let me create a scenario. You drink out of glass bottles. When you're done with a bottle, what's easier? Washing it out and reusing it? Or just chucking it out the window? It takes a lot less energy to chuck it. However, you'll eventually run out of *space* to chuck the bottles, not to mention you'll run out of glass to MAKE the bottles.

2d3d 2d3d 1 year, 3 months ago

Glass is made out of sand though, and looking at the size of the Sahara, I don't think we'll be running out any time soon. But your right, we should recycle.

BATzerk BATzerk 1 year, 3 months ago

Hey, guys! I'm glad so many of you like my project! Having said that, I made it without taking it too seriously; that is, this project is simply an aid to raise awareness of global warming. That's it. It's not a representation of what's going to happen to the earth (let's hope not!).

TigerQueen TigerQueen 1 year, 3 months ago

Global warming is a HUGE problem!!!!

Madnesscombatmaker Madnesscombatmaker 1 year, 3 months ago

However there's one thing I've been thinking of for a very long time. Shouldn't we create our own sun or something like that? Cause 1 day our sun will die. >.< And another thing. Why waste money on stupid weaponry? We could need something like gigantic cannons in space that can take down meteors and other big objects (if) it would happen that a thing the same size as the sun it heading towards our planet... why waste ammo on killing our own people when we can use it for mush better things.

InvaderMik InvaderMik 1 year, 3 months ago

Something the size of the sun can't enter our solar system, due to a whole lot of gravity issues and stuff. We can't build a star, too. We haven't even been able to duplicate the sun's energy source for more than a few minutes, let alone thousands of years. That and if the sun turns to a red giant, how will another star save us?

Madnesscombatmaker Madnesscombatmaker 1 year, 3 months ago

woah! Ya I really dont want that to happen >.>

CO2 is actually good for the environment, it does NOT contribute to warming. And actually a recent study by the New York Times reveals that recycling itself uses TONS and TONS of energy. Global warming is not a hoax, but it is COMPLETELY natural, as we are emerging from a period dubbed "The Little Ice Age" (1500-Present).

pettamapossum pettamapossum 1 year, 3 months ago

It is completely natural, but constantly buying and throwing away stuff isn't helping anything. We need to work on that.

Actually, Carbon Dioxide does not have any effect on "global warming." The warming of the NORTHERN HEMISPHERE is actually due to the rise of solar radiation emitted. Also ONY 3% of all CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere is Man-made.

Okay, global warming is not a hoax. And the world probably won't explode if we use aerosol cans (it's more the message; it's a hyperbole). But if we don't mind our resources smartly, we could certainly begin to run out soon. And holes in the ozone are enough to bake parts of the earth, which isn't really good. But I'd encourage you to recycle to conserve resources!

MoonDemon MoonDemon 1 year, 4 months ago

I agree with you!!! Everyone thinks that by putting stuff in the trash that they are helping, but recycling paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, rubber, old cloth, and other things, you could help to make our enviorment not only more healthy, but clean, and longer living. Because of all of this garbage humans have made, the world is dying and there is no joke in that.

(view all replies)
Regdar Regdar 1 year, 4 months ago

I want to make one thing perfectly clear: GLOBAL WARMING IS A HOAX! And the world will not explode if CO2 "levels" reach that point! Oh yeah, and recycling and CO2 have nothing to do with each other.

jessman jessman 1 year, 3 months ago

there will obviously be no explosion, CO2 is an extinguishing agent.
