ok i need help...i did what you said...but when my sprite(im using it as an obstacle) hits the wall it drags with it...what am i doing wrong how do i ge tit off the screen?
I'm new to the scratch program. I only started it yesterday. It's a very good program. Your advice about scrolling has been very useful to me and (by the looks of these comments), a lot of other people.
Has every1 solved their abs of x position thing,
if not i think there is a solution, although, i am new to scrolling and have not finished the tutorial but i think some people may be looking for a block called ABS X position that is on my version
I was wondering if you would like to enter this in the Scratch Awards for Best Tool. reply here: (link to gallery) and enter it here: (link to gallery)
(link to project) for my scrolling template that demonstrates successful scrolling by using this guide. (with a few modifications to make the scrolling not loop)
thing is, I already knew how to scroll but in a different way that took muuuuch longer. this way is quick and easy. it took me 5 minutes to make the biggest scrolling envirement I ever made so far. nice job!

I don't think that there is an 'abs' part in the early scratch, please download the latest version.

no, my version is the latest version of scratch and it has the 'abs' bit in the number section ([abs] of [# or variable])
(view all replies)Comment Reply
No, I know why it dosen't work for all scratchers. It's because you can only get the "abs of" block from the beta version of scratch.
(view all replies)Comment Reply
Have you followed the instructions EXACTLY. If so then it should work. (Judging by the other people's good feedback, it does work)
(view all replies)Comment Reply
