It would be better, but we wouldn't have any free will. We would be slaves, basically. God wanted to give us a choice, so He did. You don't like it? Fine.

(view all replies)Ha. That's the classic argument. You see, God didn't create suffering. He gave man a CHOICE. Now you're going to say "but why did he have to give man a choice? Why not make a perfect, completely sinless world?" It's because God didn't want to force us to do anything. It's called free will. God didn't create evil. Evil is more like the absence of God.

Just because the Bible says something doesn't mean it is literally true. There is a lot of symbolism in the Bible which reveals religious truth, but not necessarily literal truth.

God said that you shall have no other God's other than him. If He's not most important in your life then that must mean that whatever is more important than God is like a god to you.

If heaven is better than earth, and Jesus was 100% certain of going to heaven, in what way was his death a sacrifice? Isn't that like "sacrificing" life in a hovel to move to a mansion?

Just wanted to bring to everyones attention that it is by faith and grace that we are saved not because of good works but good works are good
Doesn't that depend on your beliefs? I believe that the Catholic Church's official stance is that works are needed, but most Protestant faiths believe that works are unnecessary.
I've added my projects to this great gallery. And let's remember, my fellow Christian Scratchers, that we have a job to do. We have to tell others about Christianity, through Scratch or just by telling others you see every day. If we do this, God will be pleased and so he will take us to be with him in Heaven, after we die. And boy - that will be a perfect place!!! I can't wait! I hope to see YOU there!
you cant wait to die. thats pathetic. just consider for a second, WHAT IF you're wrong about your religion (I know its hard to get your head around.) Then you spent your whole life doing nothing, and it turns out YOU DONT GO TO HEAVEN AFTER ALL. thats just sad.

I was talking worldwide, Toasty. Yes, the Catholic Church is rather underepresented in the UK, mainly due to the reformation/dissolution during the reign of Henry VIII.

Basically to be a Christian you just have to admit your a sinner, ask for forgiveness, turn away from your sin,have faith in God, and believe that He created all things an that Christ die on the cross for you. Also after that just obey God the best you can. Once your saved your saved. Nothing can take away your salvation no matter what you've done,are doing, and will do later on God forgives you but we still need to repent.
