It already does! Or at least, it uses it. You know, scratch itself isn't going to contain real 3d any time soon, so the only way that we'd get built-in 3d is if some brilliant squeak programmer came along and found a way to have a 3d version of scratch... and somehow make the java applet recognize it...
Yeah, you're right... However, it's kinda fun to try and push the limits of scratch because of it's simplicity. In scratch, you always understand what you are doing. You never have to do anything you don't understand. Scratch makes things challenging... There aren't built-in commands or libraries for everything. That's what's so good about scratch... As for real programming, I perfer python.
