im commenting on 'race game' by HARD_gamer. I think the gameplay is generally good but there is no objective to the gaem, you just keep going round and roound the track, also, the AI sometimes just randomly goes off the screen.
Review for Snake: A great game but it could be better. I like the idea of avoiding the trails instead of avoiding your body. I also liked the scoring system, it was nice to everyone. However, Try to make the other snake not cross your paths cause that ain't fair!!! Great game.
i critiqued the game sheep. The movement of the sheep was very clever. this made it a challenging but fun game. i also liked the sheep costumes which were simple but great.
How are the critiques going in this group. This is one of the larger crit groups - has everyone had a chance to get a review of their project? joeyman, are you able to support and offer feedback for all these projects? How might you have your group help support the effort? Has each person who has added a project offered feedback? One way to help track this would be to ask them to post a link to the project they review on this page so you will know who is actively giving feedback :)
I have been EXTREMELY busy in the past week, so I couldn't quite critique the projects in the past week. As far as I know, no one who joined has recently critiqued another project! Also, I can't critique the projects because they're supposed to tell me when they leave one via comment. (Doesn't anyone read the Gallery Descrption anymore?) Can you help me critique and tell people that they need to critique? If you do, thanks!
I would join except it's too much of a commitment for me cause I'd have to critique on almost probably more than 100 projects and this would be my second critique group.
For Mr. Extra Fluffy- This project has been done so many times but is still pretty good. I liked the color changes in that and how the stamp things got bigger. If you want to make it better, I would add music, A shape changer and make the things got faster. Thats just my suggestion though. Good job, 9/10.
Also, becoming friends with people is a critical part about getting popular on scratch. Regularly reply to comments, even if they aren't directed twoards you. Spend some time getting to know other people. Make galleries, add people to your friends... Really, do whatever you can to become popular. Once you finally get on the front page, you'll be popular enough that you won't have to work so hard. Then you'll only have to do the games part! :)
Finally, once it's on he webpage, you need to advertise! Look at the projects on the front page. I mean, actually look at them, and don't just spam yet. Look at the project, then share something that you liked about it... Then tell them to test your game. It's really that simple! Repeat until the spam blocker says that you posted a similar message recently... (If it says that, don't post a link to your project. Instead, tell them something like "check out my game!")
As soon as you have the ideas in place, you need to think up how the atmosphere will look like. You need to make it look good, but don't focus completely on graphics. Then, as soon as you have the graphics in place, it's time to start the fun part! Programming it! Anyways, take your idea, and start on a small demo of the game. Make some tweaks to the gameplay if you need to. Then test again. Keep on repeating until the gameplay is really good. Next it's time to share... Post it online.
Well, to make good games, you need to be able to think up an idea first. Try thinking up something original. Not a mario clone, sonic clone, or anything like that. Think up some good game ideas, then try and think of a way to make it addicting. Make it hard, but not so hard that people go away from it. That is one of the things that make games addicting. Another is giving the player a score based on how well they did, and telling them to post the score in the comments. That makes it competitive.
You can put up to two projects in here, and I will comment at least one of them, sharing my thoughts. If I like them, I will press the love-it button. But there are rules:
1.) You can only add up to two projects.
2.)Make sure they are appropriate.
3.)You must critique the other members' projects as well.
If you want to be a helper to me, just ask! So, have fun, and post your projects!
