Possible New Scratch Features - Project Page

Love it if you like the features :)
Please be specific with comments, if you can, and post your own project with your opinions.

For a class, I'm helping the Scratch team think about possible new communication features for the website. They haven't decided on anything yet. Whenever they get to the point of seriously considering options, they'll listen to any feedback you provide. Make your voice heard!

I've made a Scratch-screen cast of some possible features for the project page. Please leave comments and include some of your own ideas, whether through sketches and/or Scratch projects.

You can check out a 'live' version of this via the forum page. Join the discussion there too.

Thanks for your attention. We appreciate all the feedback!

What were your motivations?

I wanted to help other Scratchers navigate the website.

What struggles did you have?

I had to plan out each piece I wanted to talk about.

What have your learned from this?

It's easy to teach others through Scratch!

Other thoughts?

Welcome to the World of Scratch

If you had 1 minute to tell a friend the useful things on the Scratch website, what would you tell them?

I've created a gallery and a first project that highlights some useful things about the Scratch website. I would like members of the community to contribute a quick project that would help a new Scratch citizen get oriented. I decided to do a sort of screencast with audio and screenshots but feel free to come up with a creative way to teach others about how to navigate the world of Scratch and what to do when you're stuck.

I'm helping the Scratch Development Team think of new ways to enhance the experiences of Scratch users. Your input will be very valuable. Thanks!

Behind the Scenes - Interactive Drummer for Scratch Board

This shows how I made the drumset that was built upon funkygopher94's Interactive Drummer. It is one of many ways to make a physical interface. I'd like to see what others could come up with. Have fun!

Interactive Drummer for Scratch Board

This is a remix of funkygopher94's Interactive Drummer. It is designed for use with a Scratch Board where the resistance sensors are used as touch sensors, like drum pads. The sound sensor will change the color of the background. The slider adjusts the volume. The current configuration is:

A-Snare
B-Tom
C-Crash
D-Bass

You can configure as needed. I left the original code also. To see how it was made, check out the accompanying behind-the-scenes Scratch project:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/jlai/293687

Controls:
t=left tom-tom
y=right tom-tom
b=bass drum
h=hi-hat
s=snare drum
a=crash cymbal
r=ride cymbal
f=floor tom
c=hand clap
