We all always just need something to triger the start of our writing. I hope this will give each student a sense of writing their own story!!

initial sound identification - Halloween

Use of SCRATCH as interactive stimulus materials to teach speech/language skills to younger children Children can choose characters, clothing, background, etc., make sentences about pictures, tell story, identify/change positions/size (to teach concepts, e.g., prepositions, -er/-est). The Scratch page presented here is designed to work on initial sound identification. Using letter keys--- identify initial sound of character by pressing the correct letter key which results in movement of the respective character (e.g., W=witch, G=ghost, F=fairy) Character says word if correct initial letter key is pressed (e.g., N=nice, B=boo, H=hello) Ghost is shy (Hides) when the witch says, "Hello." You can get him to Come back. Reset characters by pressing green flag.

Lesson 3 In this lesson, I would teach the students to change the background of lessons 1 & 2 Lessons 1 & 2 This could be used as the first two lessons in kindergarten. The first lesson would be to have Scratch move 10 spaces. The second lesson would be to make Scratch move back to the starting point.
