Mario Test 5 - Bugfixes

<img src="http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Nightgunner5/168083_sm.png" width="148" height="111" border="1" alt="" />Based on ssaamm's "platformer" and using the sprites from his "mario (coming soon)".

Use the left and right arrow keys to go left and right, spacebar does a jump. Your goal is to get to the teal doors without touching the light yellow shapes.

From test 2 on, there is a time limit of 60 seconds per level. If you get below 15 seconds, Mario thinks "I'm almost out of time!" and there is a clock ticking noise.

From test 3 on, there is music. Also, the "Time Remaining" icon fades out with the rest of the game when you win or lose. There are still a few glitches to be ironed out.

From test 4 on, there is a goomba. If Mario touches the goomba on the side or it falls on you, he loses a hitpoint. He has a maximum of 3 hitpoints for all the levels. If Mario jumps on the goomba, it will disappear with a pop. The goomba will move towards Mario (left or right) and all physics that affect Mario will also affect the Goomba.

This version contains the same 3 levels as Test 3, along with a goomba in each level.

Fixed bugs:
1. The music would randomly stop. This should fix it.

Mario Test 5 - Powerups

<img src="http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Nightgunner5/167442_sm.png" width="148" height="111" border="1" alt="" />Based on ssaamm's "platformer" and using the sprites from his "mario (coming soon)".

Use the left and right arrow keys to go left and right, up arrow key to jump, and spacebar shoots a fireball.

From test 5 on, there is a reward for killing the goomba (which has been graphically improved). Either a mushroom or a flower (chosen randomly) will appear. The mushroom will run away from Mario, but if caught, will give him an extra hitpoint. The flower stays where it appears, but will give Mario the ability to shoot a fireball. There is a maximum of one fireball at a time, and each fireball will fly around the level continuously until it hits a goomba. If a level is completed and the fireball hasn't hit anything, it cannot be reobtained without another flower.

There is a secret about which way the fireball will fly, see if you can figure it out!

This version contains the same 3 levels as Test 3, along with a goomba in each level.

Mario Test 3 - Bugfixes

<img src="http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Nightgunner5/167031_sm.png" width="148" height="111" border="1" alt="" />Based on ssaamm's "platformer" and using the sprites from his "mario (coming soon)".

This version contains the same 3 levels as Test 3.

Fixed bugs:
1. When on a moving platform or walking down a slope, the walking animation didn't look quite right.
This was fixed by adding a jump variable that would only be active if Mario hadn't touched red or dark red in a tenth of a second instead of checking immediately for just dark red.

2. The red box that hides the "Time Remaining" icon used to come back after the fade animation was done.
This has been prevented by changing the "Winner!!" and "Game over" text to a sprite instead of a background.

3. When you lost the game and clicked to restart, you would lose immediately on the first click because the mario sprite was still at 0 health.
This has been fixed by making the 0 health condition only activate after a tenth of a second into the game.

4. If Mario fell into the bottom of the screen and took damage from the light yellow shapes, he would get stuck and continue to take damage.
Now, he will teleport back to the beginning of the level after taking damage at the bottom of the screen.

Mario Test 3 - Extra Level

This version contains the same 2 levels as Test 2, along with an extra third level.

Known bugs:
1. When on a moving platform or walking down a slope, the walking animation doesn't look quite right. I have no clue how to fix this, but I will experiment with it and see what I can do. If you can figure it out, make a remix of this project.
2. When you lose the game and click to restart, you lose immediately on the first click.
3. The red box that hides the "Time Remaining" icon comes back after the fade animation is done.
