A simple experiment in symmetric random motion. Normally, there is a 3 second wait before it goes on to the next pattern. If you press the Space key while the pattern is drawing, you will cause it to be Paused (small blinking red dot in the lower left corner). It will not go on to the next pattern until you press the Space key again and unpause it. What I like best about this project is the variety of different patterns that are generated by the same simple algorithm. Enjoy! http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Paddle2See/199977_sm.png Defend Your Turf! http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/archmage/14986 Evil terrorists are attacking your beautiful country and are you just going to stand around!?!?? NO! You are going to Defend Your Turf! Objective: Shoot and destroy all bombs that are coming down and destroy as many enemy helicopters as you can, and don't die. Scoring System: Every second you stay alive you earn 1 point Every bomb you shoot gives you 10 points Every helicopter you shoot down gives you 30 points How you can be killed: By touching bombs or their explosions By going to far downward because your land is blown up The enemy calls for reinforcements once when you reach 300 points and again when you reach 1000 points. http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/archmage/14986_sm.png Invaders http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Lion1021/193507 Click and Drag the MOUSE or use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows keys to move. SPACEBAR or UP ARROW will fire. 5 Levels. Destroy the Invaders to save Earth! You can press L to skip ahead levels. http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Lion1021/193507_sm.png Spring. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/billyedward/174577 This scratch arrangement of the peer gynt suite by Edvard Greig incorperates many instruments, some western, such as the oboe or trombone, as well as some natural, like birds tweeting, and also many japanese themes, such as the cherry tree, and instruments like the koto or shakuhachi. listen to it if you really need to calm down. http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/billyedward/174577_sm.png Slime Volleyball v6 http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/mudkip/175075 This is the final version (for real this time)! Player one uses the WAD keys to move, and S to use items. Player 2 uses arrow keys to move, and down arrow for items. If you so desire, you can switch between 1 and two player mode on the options menu. You can also change the strength of gravity (the normal is .3) and select which power-ups appear. Changes from v5 are: You can now choose how hard the AI is. Levels 1 and 2 are pretty easy, 3 is standard, 4 gets a bit tough and 5 is pretty much unbeatable (not impossible though; it just takes a bit of practice. HINT: Try it with only the shrink powerup). Enjoy! http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/mudkip/175075_sm.png 3D Stunt Flyer http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/bigB/181829 Fly your light aircraft through a series of loops to try and complete the course. A and Z, speed up/slow down Up, dive down Down, fly upwards Left Right, turn left/right. The is a timer in the corner but you get penalties for misiing or hitting the gates. This is a tricky game. Until you get used to the controls fly slowly. Goodluck. (The water was taken from S65's aircraft game) For best results download it and run in fullscreen. dont forget to give a 'love it' if you do. http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/bigB/181829_sm.png Super Waterfall Climber http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Ivaash/182471 Ever want to climb a 50 foot waterfall? With all you have for defense is an inflatable spike ball Press the arrow keys to move Avoid the rocks they will make you fall Press space to use your inflatable spike ball use only when ready Get to the top! http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Ivaash/182471_sm.png Hangman http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/shadow_7283/181071 This is a fun game that took me a while to put together so I hope you have fun. Currently there are ten different words available so see if you can find them all! How I Made This: Basically when you guess a letter, a sprite checks to see if it is in the word that has already been chosen. It then does the proper command depending on whether or not it was right. Instructions: If you haven't played classic hangman before, the object of the game is to guess the word that someone has thought up. You do this by guessing letters one at a time. When you first start to skip the title screen click on the mouse. When you first start a a please wait sign will appear. Wait till six dashed lines appear to begin playing. To guess your first letter type in the letter that you think that might be correct. If it is correct the letter you guessed should be shown in the spot where it fights. If your guess was incorrect your guesses (shown above the word) should change by minus one. If you get ten incorrect guesses you loose the game. About the letters in the corner; those are the letters you have already guesses. It will still count as a mistake. Note: It will ALWAYS shown the red "X" over the letter, whether it is correct or not. Feel free to make better versions, just please give me credit in your project notes. http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/shadow_7283/181071_sm.png Scratchoids http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Paddle2See/180740 Shoot the asteroids before they crush your ship! Controls: Left/Right Arrows - Turn ship Up Arrow - Thrust Down Arrow - Shoot Space - Warp When your ship first appears on the screen (and every time you get a new ship), it is surrounded by a shield (blue circle). The shield lasts 3 seconds and during that time you can not be hurt by rocks, nor can you shoot. Use the 3 seconds to move the ship to a safe area of the screen. Artistic Comments: I spent a LOT of quarters on the original Asteroids arcade game back in the Jurassic Period ('80s) I wanted to preserve the feel of the arcade version so I kept the graphics pretty minimal. I did take some liberties with the colors, however. Technical Comments: I had the most trouble coming up with a scheme to deal with the rocks splitting into smaller rocks without getting too complicated. I finally developed a 'Rock Recylcling System' that allows any rock to play any of the rock roles (Big/Medium/Small). The Stage requests a given rock size at a desired location (using global variables). Any rock that is not currently busy can respond to the request and assume the proper role. This keeps the sprite count low which helps performance. If you want more rocks (and your computer can handle it), just make more rock copies. Acknowlegements: Thanks to The_Guardian for the neat score display widget. Thanks to Fullmoon for the nifty MIDI frontloader widget. Thanks to Cyclone103 for suggesting the Warp feature, it adds a lot! Thanks also to all the other people who previously took a whack at Asteroids, I got inspiration and some sound effects from you! http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Paddle2See/180740_sm.png Memory http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Cyclone103/174713 Read this first This project will test your memory! It creates a 25x25 array when the green flag is pressed, so you have to wait until it is done. This should take a few seconds at most. Then, click the row of red boxes that has the arrow next to it. Your goal is to find a green check. If you find a red x, you will have to re-start. It does this automatically, but you can do it manually by pressing space. Tell me how far you can get! Every time it resets, it will stay the same pattern. But, every time you press the green flag, it will make a new one. Have fun! Every 6 rows there is a slightly smaller row. There was not enough space for the full boxes, so I shrank that row to 75%. Press "C" to reset your personal best. http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Cyclone103/174713_sm.png Nayr's Adventure ~ No Music http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/NayrMP/144891 Hey Everyone, NayrMP here! This is my prize game, Nayr's Adventure, and one that I have been working on for around a month. It is by far (in my opinion) the best game on Scratch ever created! Try it out for yourself and see what I mean! ~ * ~ If this game doesn't load on the website, you can download it, then play it in presentation mode on Scratch. Also, if you have a slow running computer, try the "No Music" version, as it is a smaller file and doesn't take as long to load. ~ * ~ This wonderful game is dedicated to my family (including our pets), and a few of my close friends. ~ * ~ I would highly recomend reading EVERYTHING in the game's main menu before playing, as it contains very important information. ~ * ~ NOTICE: If you would like to use ANYTHING from this game in your personal project, please read the "Information" section in the main menu of the game before doing or copying anything. ~ * ~ Tell all of your Scratch friends (and other friends) about this game, make sure to click LOVE-IT, and download if you like it a lot. I would like this to be either (or all of) the Most Loved, Most Downloaded, or Most Viewed game on the site for a time, so please help me in accomplishing my goal. ~ * ~ Make sure to continue checking back on my Scratch page at: ~ www.scratch.mit.edu/users/NayrMP ~ to find more awesome games, and continue checking back for more updates and wonderful projects. Thanks, and Enjoy! ~ NayrMP ~ : ) http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/NayrMP/144891_sm.png Coins From Heaven http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Paddle2See/171502 Catch the coins. Avoid the meteors. It's as simple as that. The coins can drop anywhere on the world so you need to move around a lot and find them before they hit the ground. If 5 coins hit the ground, the game is over. Controls: Left/Right Arrows to move Green Flag to start over Nothing particularly revolutionary here. I just liked the way the buggy moved. The buggy is made up of two coupled sprites. The angle of the vehicle is set by the heights of the individual sensor sprites. The logic that keeps the buggy on the surface has increasing adjustments. The longer the buggy is in an incorrect state (in the air or under ground), the bigger the correction gets (up to a limit). This approach gives pretty good performance as you can see. The scrolling is a simplified version of the one I used in my Privateer project and is a mixture of Archmage's technique, the technique used in Capital and who knows what else. I was inspired to make this after viewing 04lukeb's marvelous Mountain Bike Madness game. http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Paddle2See/171502_sm.png Gobo Mancala http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/chalkmarrow/168777 MANCALA Play Mancala with Gobo! Click on "Help" to see full directions, but generally you click on one of the six bins closest to you when it is your turn, and they are "sown" counterclockwise around the board. The game is over when one whole side of the board is cleared. The player with the most gems in their "store" (the two ends of the board), PLUS the number of gems on their side of the board, wins. --- Gobo is not a very good player, but in later revs may get a bit smarter :) This includes a lot of widgets collected by widgetfarmer1. http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/chalkmarrow/168777_sm.png Mountain Bike Madness http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/04lukeb/168642 PLEASE DOWNLOAD, IT IS BUGGY ONLINE. This game was kind of made by accident. I was experimenting with ways of making somthing roll and turn, accordingly. I ended up with a working, rolling bike, that I made into a game. Ride your bike to the next stage, without crashing. If you go too fast, you will crash and fall off the screen. Also watch the energy bar. When you pedal, it will decrease. Free-wheel on the downhills and pedal on the uphills to conserve energy. Start - begin the main game, made up of 5 levels, each with 4 stages. In total - 20 stages (not including free ride) Free Ride - not to be confused with free-riding - I am actually a freerider/downhiller.(Free Ride was the only name I could think of) ride your bike along 10 different pieces of terrain to test the bikes rolling and physics with unlimited energy. Instructions - The controls and other pieces of info. The game is still quite buggy. Somtimes when you go down a steep hill, you will fly off the hill and fly around the edges of the screen. Some stages don't work very well,as the terrain is too steep or too bumpy. In my opinion, the stages that work the best are Level 1, stages 2 and 3. The physics, aren't quite perfect, but the basics are there: You will use more more energy going up steeper hills, you will travel faster down steeper hills, etc. I tryed to make this a side-scrolling game, but the rolling physics didn't work. One part thatcould be improved is the physics when you are in the air. It was purely luck that the rider doesn't start spinnning out of control, like I expected, when he is in the air, but it can be improved. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this game, :D 04lukeb. http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/04lukeb/168642_sm.png Runner 2 http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/coolstuff/158135 This is the sequel to my game, runner. The ball now moves faster as the game progresses, and there are powerups that make your controls get messed up. This (occasionally) is good! Avoid the large ball. Get the small balls. You're the medium ball. Post your high score as a comment! Also: I changed the powerups, they're more useful now! Also, the small 'point' balls are easier to get! http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/coolstuff/158135_sm.png
