It's related to Star Fox command. Like in Star Fox 64, whenever the characters have to speak, they speak via a pop-up of their face. This should have been one of the endings in Star Fox Command(if I could have done that.) As with all Oldschooler2 movies, watch all of it before you comment. If you love it, don't forget to click that "loveit" button! If it fails to work online, try downloading it. Rated PG. Song is by the Ramones. Oldschooler2 Productions
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/238722_sm.png Space Invaders DX http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/231677 This project marks my anniversary on Scratch. If it lags online, try downloading it and playing it in presentation mode. A retooled remake of the classic arcade game space invaders. This is a more challenging variant of space invaders. Hence the "DX" Your ship looks different (oh boy, THAT looks familiar...) How to play: Left and right arrow keys: Strafe (move) Space bar: Start, shoot Post your high score. PS: There is a secret in this game, that unlocks something. But you gotta download to find out. (Plus it comes with a homemade remix, I recorded it with Garageband on my Mac) If you love it, don't forget to click the loveit button! Oldschooler2 Productions
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/231677_sm.png Scratch Rally http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/188533 This works so much better when downloaded. I apologize if it is "sub-par", but it has been a slow month for me. Vroom! Vroom! Are you ready for the awesome power of a Rally Car? You drive the French Renault Rally car, #9, aka the Scratcher. (No pun intended). Drive a full lap around the hybrid rally track, half dirt, half road. Note the various billboards around the track, added to this game to make it feel more like a racing game in the arcades or even real life. Try to beat your best time! I feel this is my best game yet. Oh yeah, sorry I haven't had a game made in quite a while...:( Oh well, enjoy. :) Controls: Up arrow: Accelerate Down Arrow: Brake Left Arrow: Turn Left Right Arrow: Turn Right Except for the title screen and logos, everything was drawn by me. Oldschooler2 Productions
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/188533_sm.png Code Red http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/161739 This is a air shooter dogfight game, inspired by Star Fox for the Nintendo SNES and Red Alarm for the Nintendo Virtual Boy. This game is in all red and black, yes I know. I liked the graphics used in the Virtual Boy (it looked cool on Youtube). The plane is wireframe, so you may see the enemy ships. The terrain is pseudo 3-D drawn using 4 different pens. Story: A space terrorist organization has set up base in space. Unfortunately, they have spotted you and have sent MANY planes to fight you. As Red Hawk, your mission is to destroy as many ships as you can. The explosions from the planes should destroy the base. Avoid their shots AT ALL COSTS. Good luck out there, Red Hawk. Controls: The controls are inspired by the Virtual Boy controller and Red Alarm itself. W,A,S,D: Move up, left, down, right (respectively) Left and right Arrow keys: spin sideways (comes in handy avoiding enemy shots) Space: Shoot Credits: All graphics down by me, except the explosions, those are from the spriters-resource.com Explosion sound from MyRedNeptune Shot sound from S65 Main music pieces are excerpts from Metallica songs "Fight Fire with Fire" and "Master of Puppets". Don't forget to click the loveit button if you loveit! IT MESSES UP ONLINE. Inspired by Wodunne's World. This is my tv/interview installment on Scratch. Some parts are a bit crude. but I still enjoy it. (Since scratch does not recognize Cyrillic, I had to romanize the Russian word for "Hello") If you love it, do not forget to click that loveit button! Oldschooler2 Productions PS Wanna be interviewed on my show? Then post a comment!
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/135156_sm.png Cosmonaut http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/120143 If you love it do not forget to click the loveit button! Download for way better quality and speed. Ah...a space style shooting scroller game. Odd yes, but original (I guess)? The music is Chemical Plant from Sonic 2 (I thought it would sound well with the game). You are on an expedition to Mars from Earth in taking a little trip through Mars. Move with the left and right arrow keys, click to shoot (not really used in this game but it still looks cool IMO) and hover with your jet-pack with the up arrow key. Be forewarned: do not sqaunder you fuel; if it hits zero and you fall to far down, game over! And no, those fuel boxes are not real. They are decoys; fakes, if you will. That just makes the game more challenging. All sprites (except the front screen) were made by Oldschooler2, all programming done by Oldschooler2 (influenced by archmage's perfect sidescrolling engine v 2.0). Oh yeah, a cosmonaut is an astronaut, usually referring to Russians who travel into space. Update: fixed fuel and jumping. Oldschooler2 Productions
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/120143_sm.png Sonic CD Advanced http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/115227 Controls: Left and right arrow keys: move space bar: jump down arrow key, then space bar: dash If you love it don't forget to click the loveit button! This took about 15 hours of work. Somewhat glitchy, but otherwise fully playable. Honestly, this really IS NOT A TRUE REMAKE OF SONIC CD, it would take too much time to add the time zones and levels. In my opionion, an adequate simulation of a Sonic the hedgehog game, play as Sonic as you run through Robotnik's Run, a crazy air base set up in the clouds. This does not have crazy loop-D-loops or lots of rings or even a score and time. Frankly, I wanted this to be less fast paced and more thinking ahead about your moves. :) Slope detection works pretty good, as with gravity and velocity scrolling. The boss is a surprise... he's a robot Robotnik built. To beat him: just press space and make sure you are ABOVE HIM or he won't get hurt. Like almost all Sonic games, you gotta hit him 8 times before he is annihilated. You have 3 lives. You get more lives if you get the rings at the beginning. I left some of the sprite sheets inside if you download, use them if you want. Please say you got them from www.spriters-resource.com; that's where I got all the sprites for this game. Good Luck. Oldschooler2 Productions
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/115227_sm.png Sonic Vs. Knuckles 2: Knuckles' Revenge http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/102832 If you like it don't forget to click the loveit button! This is it: the sequel to the original Sonic Vs. Knuckles, produced by Oldschooler2! You might need to download this if it doesn't work right online. Remember to see ALL of it before you comment. Plot: Sonic and Knux duke it out in Sonic 1's Boss Zone: Scrap Brain Zone! The winner last time of our Sonic Showdown was Sonic, but who knows who might win this time! If you are wondering why Knuckles is pinkish for almost all of the time in this film, it is his "Knuckles' Chaotix" look from the Sega 32X. Music is "Creeping Death" performed by Metallica. Oldschooler2 Productions
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/102832_sm.png Scratch Windows-style Game Emulator http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/96535 If you love it, don't forget to click the loveit button! :) Note: For some reason the bowling game does NOT work online. Please download it if you want it to work. This Windows Emulation comes equipped with three games: A make-a-maze; Meteoroids, a spinoff of Asteroids, and a Bowling game in which you attempt to get the best score. Also includes a paint studio for those who like to draw. Continue reading to see how everything works Controls n: change background Backgrounds include: Flying Battery from Sonic 3 Ninja Kirby A pic of Sonic A star A Void or black hole and others. See which one you like the best! Games: In Make-a-maze (after the maze is drawn) left and right arrow keys: turn Up arrow key: Move forward Down arrow key or no keys: slow down Space: Cannons (which can blow down walls) In Meteoroids: Up arrow key: Thrust left and right arrow keys: turn Space: Bullets (I added contrails so you know where they're going) In Paint Studio: Click the screen to draw left and right arrow keys: change pen size Click the colors to change the paint to that color, or click the question mark box to set a random color. Click the eraser to erase mistakes Click the spray can to activate grafitti paint, which lets you spray paint the whole screen! Tools return to the frame when you lift the mouse. In Strike Bowling: Up and down arrow keys to change size Left and right arrow keys to change offset Explinations on how everything works Make-a-maze: Here you can draw your very own maze, and it is drawn exactly how you drew it! Hold the mouse down in the black grid in the upright corner to draw where you want walls (areas you cannot move). Then click the "Make my Maze!" button to start the drawing of your maze! When it is done, drive your tank to the flag that appears and you win! (Though you will need to exit the application and reenter if you want to make a new maze) How the maze drawing works: The grid is actually a very simple array that is registered by only two colors: Black and Dark Yellow. A red dot reads these colors and translates them into the costume# of the maze stamping sprite, that is, the "retrieved" variable of the red dot sets how the maze stamping sprite should look. Meteoroids: Your ship always tells you your score. Avoid the Meteorites at all costs. How the ship works: The ships speed is calculated by the thrust and uses trig to determine the x and y speeds. But that was too slow, so I multiplied it by 3 or so to make it go quicker. It also has inertia: it will slow down if you don't press anything. Paint Studio: How it works: The spray paint is drawn in a circle, which is calulated by a random diameter multiplied by pi ( about 3.1415). The screen is actually a stamp of the blocker sprite, which is white for this program, so the eraser is the same color. Strike Bowling: Collision is calculated by trigonometry, and, since this is a Pseudo-3d game, Z position. The ball and the pins change size by one and a delay is set by the reciprocal of the power. Coding is a tad sloppy but it still works pretty good. The hardest part of making this was the array. It was incredibly hard to make everything to scale, i.e. the map stamps would be the same as the grid, just bigger and really only the upper portion. The bowling was also hard to do in terms of the collision detection. Enjoy! Oldschooler2 Productions
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/96535_sm.png Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/90915 If you loveit, don't forget to click the loveit button!!! CONTROLS: Tap the right and left arrow keys to get your character going, then hold the arrow keys to keep them running. Post your best time (for both Sonic and Mario). You really shouldn't care if the opponent beats you, just try beat your best time! My best time is 8.985 for Sonic and 9.016 for Mario. Works much more efficiently when downloaded. No I am not stealing the idea. I only wanted to emulate the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games for the Wii. I have no idea why I have the solo from Dragon Forces "Through The Fire and Flames" but now I guess since this is a speed game and the solo is very fast, well, I thought it would fit. Click on either Mario or Sonic to play as respectively. Press H if you don't know the controls. (You must have already picked a player to do so) Press the right and then left arrow keys to run. See if you can beat the Computer! Post your best time when you're done. (Yeah Sonic and Mario run at about the same speeds but Mario is actually slightly slower, I know you're thinking "Sonic is mad fast, why is he slower?" Well if you saw the preview for the real game you will see that I'm not lying, they seriously slowed sonic down just so it would be fairer for the other characters). Fixed sonic's speed but he is still slow but I don't care really. This is only a 200 metre track run though. I didn't really want to add anymore. Game restarts 2 seconds after you cross the finish line. Sprites from the spriters-resource.com I got the Mario from arby. Oldschooler2 productions.
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/90915_sm.png Mario Vs. Doopliss http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/89034 Yeah, I'm back. Big whoop. No cheers please, I'm just your average everyday scratcher (and I'm seriously being modest). So, Mario fights Doopliss... again... but not in Creepy Steeple or the Shadow Queen's palace. Nope. Right in the middle of Super Mario World... I bet you know what'll happen next! We all know Doopliss will transform into you know who. It's real butt-kicking action! (For Mario, at least) If you wanna see it faster and without lag, download it. If you love it don't forget to click the loveit button! See my Mario and Sonic game at: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/90915 it is better than this, at least effortwise. I kind of rushed this, it only took me an hour or 2 to make, but I still kind of like this. Like all of my previous movies, please watch ALL of it BEFORE you COMMENT (just emphasizing) Enjoy the film! I hope to make one of these every month or so. The more favoriters, the more likely I'll make another one of these. I hope to put it into syndication. Music is the intro from metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" Sprites are from the spriters-resource.com
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/89034_sm.png Super Mario Adventure http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/72836 A tweaked version of Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. My own level...filled with platforms few and far between and enemies. Now you can move backwards! This is slow so download it. IT is slow because I use somany sprites and that creates lag like crazy. If you love it, don't forget to click the loveit button! :) Game Information: Original Demos by kingoflego and funkymonkey Moves: Right Arrow: Move forward Left arrow: Move backward Down Arrow: If touching a pipe, go down Space: Jump Collect coins at the beginning and kill the Goomba to get points. Jump under the floating Brick near the beginning to get the super Shroom. Avoid jumping into the "golden" Bullet Bills at all costs. There is only one Mushroom, so make it last. You have 3 lives. Jump onto the flagpole to finish the game (when it appears, of course). Your final score is determined by how much time you have left. Post your high score when finished. I input a "checkpoint" so when you die past it you go back to the check point. Probably the most complex Mario game on Scratch (except probably next to archmage's), be Mario in this Side Scrolling adventure! Much of these sprites are from Super Mario Bros. The rest are 8-bit versions of the New Super Mario Bros. By the by, at the point that the platforms stop Scrolling, just tap the right arrow key and you'll be fine. PS: This is slow, so download it and see it in presentation mode. Note: This is difficult but not impossible. This is probably (no, is) my best game yet. Sprites are from spriters-resource.com and S65. Oldschooler2 Productions A Flaming Trout Inc. Production.
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/72836_sm.png Ninja Showdown 3 http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/68845 A mix of manga and anime that will leave you coming back! Yeah I know its slow but it is worth watching. So, this concludes the Ninja Showdown saga, originally by plumberry. Watch all of it before you comment. I don't care if you don't like Naruto, but judge this on the quality. It's a little slow, so download it. But the online version is better synchronized with the music. Sorry if the sounds are bad but I had to compress them. Credit goes to Marquis95, bla, Playpig, S_Uchida, et.al for the sprites. If you love it do not forget to click the loveit button! :) Hope you like this! I think this is my best animation yet. Originally, this had Metallica's Creeping Death playing, but that would not load on the Java player, so it has AC/DC's song TNT. Oldschooler2 Productions
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/Oldschooler2/68845_sm.png Pokemon Blue V. 0.0 http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/63748 A remake of Nintendo's Pokemon Blue. Read on to see how to play. Download this, because The outside scrolling sprites shrinks on the site. If you love it, don't forget to click the Loveit button! I'll admit it's not perfect, but I'm not done yet. If it's that popular I'll finish it, otherwise I will not. V. 0.0 Notes: Alpha test. This is merely an introduction and scrolling test, no story line yet. You can't create your own name or Rival's name (because of the lack of arrays in Scratch), but you can choose from the 3 preset names that appear in Blue. I created this because I am a fan of the original pokemon games, but never saw a pokemon game on scratch that supports multi-directional scrolling. If I get enough loveits, than I will finish the whole game. There are glitches; mainly the "unwalkable" which ends up screwing up the wall variable. This, again, is a scroll test, no Story line yet. The full will have everything that you expect from Pokemon Blue, "Scratched"! Additional notes: Arrow keys to move. Space key is to proceed through speech. (Try it with the SNES!) Click the names to activate the code that remembers your name for future reference. Images from Spriters-resource.com Music from My pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Blue. P.S. The full will even have the standard intro battle between Gengar and Jigglypuff! You can also fight Brock in the full, fight your rival, have a look at your pokemon, and even it's stats will grow as it levels up!
