Planet of the Apes (1968) VS Planet of the Apes (2001)

I am a POTA freak, especially since the abbreviation (as I said, POTA) starts the word “Potato.”

Anyway, I really enjoyed the old and the new versions of it. Discuss which one is better/worse in a few different sections:

1. The Endings- this section is full of spoilers for those of you who never saw it. Please don't say the swear words George Taylor/Charleton Heston says at the end of the original film, however you can discuss all the other stuff there. Here is an example of the kind of thing you could say- 2001 version's ending is even MORE CONFUSING AND WEIRD! weird twists are awesome.

2.The Stories- They have extremely different stories. Talk about which one you prefer. Example- the 1968 one was more about proving Taylor was a human that was smart. It was cool seeing the court stuff and whatnot- whereas the 2001 one had a lot to do with battles.
I like 'em both for different reasons.

Create your own sections if you like, but consult me before you do so.

Ehehehehe this is no contest.

I haven't even seen the remake but from what I've heard, it's not very good.
The original is one of my favorite films of all time, though.

Yeah, my dad doesn't really like the 2001 version. I prefer the original, but the 2001 version has a better twist. Rather than sad, it's almost funny.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Girlfriends are fun, aren't they?

That means I just got a girlfriend. Only problem is I have no idea what to do! That sucks. A lot.

I don't think that I watched the newest one.
The oldest one was with the trickiest ending I think.

Ah. I see.

Well, I've only seen that one, and I thought it was pretty good.

Planet of the Apes (1968) VS Planet of the Apes (2001)

I can see why dsaztur likes the 2001 version- way more action, not to mention rather than nearly all the apes being evil (with the exception of Cornelius & Zira) there are a lot of mean apes but there was actually a main “mean ape” in that one. The twist in the 2001 version I like a lot more though.

one other thing- once I've seen all the POTA movies, (I saw the first three, the 2001 version, and Rise) I will make a discussion for all the movies, and have the VS stuff on this forum. However awesome Rise is (Rise of the blah blah is my dad's favorite POTA movie) this forum is not for rise. Please discontinue your discussions for that.

Please keep it in the subjects, and do more comparisons than just saying “____” is better.

I admit to breaking this rule, but I will stop.

I think there's pretty much nothing to discuss anymore here.
