What I am suggesting:
show timer :: sensingOther forms that has been VERY useful to people using Scratch:
hide timer :: sensing
show x position :: motion
show y position :: motion
show direction :: motion
show mouse x :: sensing
show mouse y :: sensing
show volume :: sound
show variable [ v]I know it's not that much, but it's enough. I mean, showing and hiding variables: what would Scratch be like without it?

I don't like adding so many repetive blocks. Perhaps just a:
block (in data, perhaps)

I'm sorry, but with a second solution so easy the world does revolve around workarounds.
Extra blocks that could be avoided are like hiring a false positive. Except that instead of wasting space and performing badly, it just wastes space.

About what scratch would be without hide/show var and lists, yeah, then people would have to make tons of sprites to show their score and stuff.
