MEOW GENERATIONS- First Video game project with Scratch and Unity working with each other

link

MEOW GENERATIONS is probably the first REAL video game project that shows how Scratch corporates with Unity, showing off Scratch's power to be linked in with different game engines.

MEOW GENERATIONS was founded on February 3ed when Commanded Dog got a American Shorthair. He said it looked a lot like Guppy on TBOI. That's when a genius idea came to me like a bullet.

I researched for 2 days already on cat breeds and care. MEOW GENERATIONS is what I call a Cross-Engine project. Being developed halfway on Scratch and the other Half on Unity, I believe that Scratch is more powerful than what most people think.

I don't know what this topic belongs on but this is also scratch-related so I put this topic here

How is Scratch working with Unity?

Scratch records audio, right? Scratch uploads audio in .wav files and Unity supports .wav files. So Scratch sends the audio to the Drive, and I import it into Unity and it doesn't get messed up/ it's unharmed. Scratch also Imports costumes, which I call materials in Unity by either putting .png or .jpg.

I hope this game project gets noticed out in the world, maybe get to the Scratch team.

To Scratch team: Thank you ST for making Scratch and now I am showing it's advanced capabilities out to every one. Scratch is also a great tool for young developers.

Yes, I will credit Scratch in the “Other Programs used” and it will say working with Unity for possibly the first time ever.

I'm afraid this isn't exactly working together, all that's really being done is importing images and sounds from Scratch into unity. Cool project though!

I don't really understand how scratch and unity are being used together. Are you writing a scratch mod?

Yeah same here. And who is Commanded Dog? Are you talking about this user over and over without telling us who they are just to troll or what? I've asked several times for an explanation…

This,

and quite frankly, you could save yourself effort by recording in a software like Audacity, saving it as a wav and importing it into Unity.

And this “Commanded Dog” and his magical anti-virus is just as fake as a pink fluffy unicorn dancing on a rainbow.

In my opinion, this isn't Scratch “working together” with Unity. If it was, then the Scratch Team would have to work with the developers of Unity (or you are using the Scratch programming blocks to create scripts in Unity).

The title is misleading and so is the post, as it suggests that you are using a Unity modification that adds Scratch blocks (or such a mod is in development), when in reality you are just using Scratch to do the graphics and the sounds for a Unity game you are working on.

(Though I would like it if there was a Unity mod in development that could add Scratch blocks)

I understand Paw Works is still in its infancy. Whatever I said was not supposed to go against the game you're working on; this is only an opinion.

Same would love to see a unity modification that adds Scratch blocks someday.

There is an asset that brings in visual, block-based scripting, called plyBlox. Unfortunately, it costs $45.

Maybe when I get a new computer and have some money left, I can probably try plyBlox with Unity…

I don't mean to be rude but this entire project is literally just using scratch for audio and then sending it to unity, which is just - frankly - so awfully inefficient there's just no point even trying to play the game.

I am still trying to switch Scratch into UnityScript JavaScript. USJS is different than regular JavaScript, because there are big differences. And I am using Unity 4.5.5 because there is a “Little” glitch in 4.6 because if you put it's x and y number over 1 it tiles it weird

I could get it, but I have a VERY tight budget ($10) and I only have the free version of Unity.
