New Game: Ideas For Worlds & Characters

I've resolved to change my project style on Scratch for 2015, and as part of this, I've decided to make more games.

I want to start work on a game called DerpLife, but I need some ideas. Here is a basic framework of my ideas for the game so far:

Derp meets Derpette in Derpland and falls in love immediately.
TWO WEEKS LATER:
Derp is in his bedroom listening to epic tunes on his iPod, when he receives a call from an unknown number. He answers it even though he thinks it's a nuisance call. It isn't. He finds out that Derpette was actually kidnapped by a group of secretive, mysterious Derps from a secretive, mysterious criminal organisation (even though they're not meant to exist in Derpland). He has to go on a mission to save her before it's too late. The chase runs through several worlds of scrolling levels.

Current ideas:
WORLD 1: Grass World – like World 1 on Super Mario. Boss: Derpy Mushroom Man – shoots exploding mushrooms and drops a poisonous mushroom that can be used to destroy the World 2 boss.
WORLD 2: Forest World. To get to World 3 Derp finds a secret portal, after defeating the boss, Derpy Tree Guy. The boss can grow walls around you and crush you, and drops a healing leaf that can increase your health by one life
WORLD 3: Desert World. At the end, Derp reaches a city, where he has a rap battle. He loses, and is forced to make his way through the streets of World 4. Boss: Derpy Sandman, who throws sand at you during the rap battle so you lose.
WORLD 4: Urban World. At the end, Derp goes back for another rap battle. The boss, Derpy Sandman, comes out from his hiding place inside some rubble at a construction site after you challenge him. You beat him, he explodes because he's a derp, and he drops a mysterious sandy rock, which can be hammered open for a desert gem which can be combined with used for desert armour to protect you against the heat of the volcano in World 7., and this time he wins. He then goes to the Apple Store to get a signal to try to contact Derpette, but is sucked into a computer, where World 5 is located.
WORLD 5: Pixel World – very different to other worlds, and much less detailed.
WORLD 6: Ice World – the world will look quite similar to the game Ski Safari, if you've played it before. After defeating the boss, Derp falls into an avalanche which deposits him in World 7.
WORLD 7: Volcano World. I intend this world to be very challenging to pass, especially on the boss level. At the end of this world, Derp falls down a hole into the next world. This world was suggested by deathbychocolate.
WORLD 8: Cave World – underground. A passageway to the final world, but blocked by a very challenging boss.
WORLD 9: Castle World – the final world of the game.World 5 Boss: Derpy Pixel Monster; shoots giant pixels at you which knock you back away from it and drops a Pixelated Iron and a Pixelated shield
World 5 Boss: Derpy Pixel Monster; shoots giant pixels at you which knock you back away from it and drops a Pixelated Iron and a Pixelated shield
World 6 Boss: Derpy Weather Destroyer; controls the weather to make hail, sleet, snow, and freezing rain on you and can freeze you in a giant ice cube and break it to kill you and drops Never-melt-ice and a weather stone which you use to get into the last world by using it's powers to break the gate

World 7 Boss: Derpy Obsidian Monster; moves the lava to make it harder for you to kill him and has an obsidian longsword to kill you if you get too close and drops the obsidian longsword used to weaken the final boss or kill the Earthen One

World 8 Boss: The Earthen One; can move the rock plates to shake the ground and can make rock spikes to burst out of the ground and kill you and drops a diamond shield

World 9 Boss: Techno, has hi-tech machines that come after you and try to kill you and has an electric cannon that zaps you and kills you, drops a top hat that you can wear and a key to unlock Derpette's cage

I would like ideas for worlds and characters Derp meets along the way – friends or enemies – any suggestions are appreciated! However, I do not require music or code just at the moment. Any of your ideas are appreciated, even if I don't go on to use them, as I plan this to be a really big project.

I'll put potential characters and graphics onto my test account at ketchup5791.

UPDATE: I currently don't need anything else as I'm planning the full story, before going on to program the full game.

World 1 Boss: Derpy Mushroom Man; can shoot exploding mushrooms and drops a poisonous mushroom that can be used to destroy World 2's Boss's
leaf shield

World 2 Boss: Derpy Tree Guy; can grow walls around you and crush you and drops a healing leaf that can revive one life and you find a leaf man that can help you with battles

World 3 Boss: Derpy Sandman; you are beating him but he tosses sand at you which messes up your rapping and you lose and the sandman goes to hide in the city (knowing that you would try and punch his derpy face for messing you up)

World 4 Boss: Derpy Sandman; he comes out from his hiding place inside some rubble at a construction site after you challenge him for another rap battle, you beat him, he explodes because he's a derp, and he drops a mysterious sandy rock, which can be hammerred open for a desert gem which can be combined with a Pixelated Iron and Never-melt-ice used for desert armour to protect you against the heat of the volcano

Also, consider adding a cloud variable powered saving system because it will most likely be a HUGE game, if you do, I'll post a script that works

I already thought about the potential issues with game length, so instead of cloud, which New Scratchers can't access, I decided to include save codes after each level, which you can type in when you go on the game next, to go straight to that level.

That way people could not post the level codes - everyone would have their own personalised code. I would suggest adding the word list that is going around and picking say two or three words that have to be typed.

Extra kudos if you can write the load/save code as something that anyone can add to their own games. And it should be a fall-back mechanism if cloud variables are not available. If you can load a level from the cloud, you don't need to hassle the user with an unlock code.

Thanks for the tip! That would be useful so people can't cheat as easily, as I did see this as a potential flaw. I'll look into this and see if I can put a demo onto my test account.

Since it's Christmas, I wrote this for you…

Each game it is used in will get different codes, so you won't be able to take a code from an easy game and use it to unlock a level in a harder game; and codes are individualised to each user, so if someone posts their unlock code it won't do anyone else any good. And there are over 100,000 unlock codes to choose from, so people won't be able to guess them.
