I personally don't remember what it's actually called, but does ANYONE remember that big, yellow, dopey smiley face that used to be in the Sprite Library?
Why was it taken off?

I think I know what you're talking about, calling it “Awesome Face” might confuse people because that's what a lot of people call this face

Could you please post a picture of it (Not the one Iditaroid posted, but the one that was in the Scratch sprite library)? I don`t know how it looks like. If I like it, I might support the return of the awesome face.

I think it was removed because it was tacky, not because of copyright reasons. I'm not sure what the copyright on it could even be when hot topic sells it on shirts with the original designer getting zilch from each sale

No offense to Scratch, but how could they remove that one because it's “tacky”? It's very popular, and there are other ones they could have removed instead.
