Anyone else interested in George Orwell's 1984?
Does the inner party control things as they do because they benefit by living in luxury as a result of it?
Do Eastasia and Eurasia even exist?
And your ideas/questions?

Does the inner party control things as they do because they benefit by living in luxury as a result of it? It's to both do that and keep easier control over everything, isn't it? For all we know they're controlled the same way as the Outer Party is, though, and there's another level that's truly Big Brother above them.
Do Eastasia and Eurasia even exist? Unreliable Expositor: Do Eurasia and Eastasia actually exist, or are they made up by the Party, which actually controls the whole world? Alternatively, does Oceania even exist, and does the Party actually control less than it says does? The whole point is that the information given out by the Party is unreliable, and seeing how the only information the reader receives comes from the Party, nobody knows for sure any details about “the world” of 1984. The Party may not control any territory outside the British Isles. It may not even control the whole of the UK. Seeing as Winston never leaves London, we'll never know. (tvtropes)
And your ideas/questions?
Also, remember. The average person would not have been Winston. We are the proles.

Sarcasm? Doesn't seem very friendly….
Whether you've seen it before or not, it seems like the video is pertinent to the topic, yes?

All I can think of is The Lonely Island:
There's no such thing
As too much Purell.
This a cautionary tale,
Word to George Orwell.
So don't 1984 force
Any plugs into sockets.

I read the book in fifth grade even though at the time people thought I was too young to be reading it.
I might reread it this summer though.

In 2018, I asked the Scratch Team to remove all my forum posts to protect my privacy. That's why this post is blank. Besides, I've outgrown this website, and I don't want the dumb things I said in my late tween/early teen years to follow me around for the rest of my life. This post probably wasn't anything interesting or important, anyway.
