How do you save a sprite to your library? If possible
Scimonster you closed the OP's other post stating that they'd already asked the same question in this post (https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/6031/), however this is the opposite to what they asked in the other post. This post asks how to save sprites (i.e. extract) and the other post asks how to add them to a sprite library (i.e. import).
Can anyone tell me how to add images to a sprite library please (i.e. import them)?

Just to clarify, I don't mean import as outlined here:
https://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Exporting_and_Importing#Sprites_2
Despite its description, the article above tells you how to add a sprite to a project and not how to import it to your sprite library.

This topic was from years ago. Please don't post on old topics. Just to clarify, I don't mean import as outlined here:

'_'::motion//This is Blocky. He protects my siggy from kumquats.-cs377310, originally cs300929
3_3::sound//This is Lesuire. He also protects my siggy from kumquats.
You will see me mostly on the shout blocks forum. Blocks I suggested are: shout, when i shout, shout and wait, i shout, wait until i shout, repeat until i shout, while i shout, etc.

Sorry I didn't realise that made a difference (I'm relatively new to Scratch)? In other forums I belong to updates, even on old posts, are always helpful because people still frequently find old posts relevant and they still show up in search results. I presume that's not the case for Scratch for some reason then?

As Abstract- said, avoid posting on old topics, as it may reduce the overquality of discussion. Also, this is from version v3xx, 2013! Sorry I didn't realise that made a difference (I'm relatively new to Scratch)? Also, this quote above is nowhere to be found on Scratch.

Not new to Scratch, you're new to the major forum system. Sorry I didn't realise that made a difference (I'm relatively new to Scratch)? Which is anti-spam, legitimate discussion.
Posting on old topics doesn't make sense in the slightest. Usually the user has moved on by that time or other.

I'd call being a member of Scratch for less than 2 months relatively new, but yes, I'm even newer to the forum system here. It does make sense to comment on old posts if they are still relevant to people (whether the OP or other users)…which this is because I've seen numerous posts asking the same thing last year and no one answered any of them, so it is a legitimate discussion….however cs377310 made a good point in that the version has changed so it ought come under a new post. Although like I say the question has been posted many times since and gone unanswered so presumably the ability simply doesn't exist anyway and it's not worth reposting.

How do you save a sprite to your library? If possible
Hey now, let's all keep in mind that different forums have different cultures - something isn't wrong just because other places they've been are different. It depends a lot on the user base and the nature of the forums.
@SiennaTR, generally we prefer that people ask questions in a new post since it allows them to more clearly define their problem and make sure that people know who to be responding to. We have a lot of younger or less experienced users, so a lot of times people just read the first post and answer, even though the person who now needs help asked something somewhat different. That's the case here, so I'm going to opt to close this one.
There's definitely more of a grey area with posts that are the exact same question, but we tend to err on the side of making a new thread, again for clarity and consistency. We're open to feedback on this sort of thing though - feel free to post in Suggestions or comment on my profile if you have something you'd like to contribute.
Also keep in mind that because of the aforementioned young userbase, we get a fair number of 2-3 year-old threads that get bumped back up by someone posting smiley faces or literal keyboard mashing, so folks here are a bit trigger happy on calling out necroposts.![](//cdn.scratch.mit.edu/scratchr2/static/__c0f55e53b5d38e8912c777ed5b9c0030__/djangobb_forum/img/smilies/tongue.png)
