In this topic, we can discuss Video Game Bosses, which are major fights in a video game, like the Plague Rat of Doom from Earthbound, gym leaders in Pokémon, and more! Here is a list of the different types of video game bosses:
Miniboss - It is usually stronger than normal enemies, but it is usually weaker than a normal boss. (e.g. Napstablook from UNDERTALE)
Boss - A normal boss fight. (e.g. Titanic Ant from EARTHBOUND)
Penultimate boss - A major boss near the end of the game right before the final boss. (e.g. tell me any unique ones from other games)
Final boss - The final major battle of the game, usually stronger than most bosses. (e.g. Mike Tyson from Punch Out!!)
Superboss - A secret boss that needs to meet certain requirements in order to be fought. It is usually harder than the final boss. (e.g. Spamton NEO from deltarune)
So yeah, let's discuss!

Your favorite boss(es)
Your least favorite boss(es)
Best boss music
Worst boss music
Easiest bosses
Hardest bosses
RNG bosses (basically luck-based bosses)
Bosses that need special puzzles in order to complete the fight
etc.

SPOILER ALERT I GUESS

I like Omega Flowey bc of the soundtrack but he looks kinda weird, also Giygas in Earthbound/Mother 2 really gives the feeling of “being the final hope of the world”.

Also Spamton NEO and the bosses in roblox series camping are awesome

Punch outs bosses are pretty good especially Mike Tyson's Punch Out for its time.

giga queen battle is really fun

Honestly, bosses are the best. They're usually the standout point in games for me and are what I tend to remember about a game. My favourite boss of all time is probably the true final boss of Octopath Traveler due to the music, the difficulty, the game's really good battle system, and while having to do 8 bosses in a row before making an attempt sucks I think it works. Something about that boss in particular makes it work for me.

Punch Out is literally all bosses though. They're great because it's the entire game. It's a great game though.

If there was a ranking system for bosses, the boss fight I feel would rank at the highest level (I imagine) would be the Spamton boss fight in Deltarune.
That boss fight's the best because it's actually original. And the attacks are very cool. For example, one of them is broken words flying around.

I agree. Although I didn't know Spamton NEO was an actual boss fight until last month, I think both the Spamton boss fights are great boss fights.
Not to mention the Queen boss fights.
The attacks from the Spamton NEO boss fight that I find are really cool (spoiler alert for those who haven't encountered this boss yet) are the attacks where you have to shoot pellets at everything.

Heavily Armed Pokey has the epicest music

Nightmare King Grimm (Hollow Knight) is excruciatingly hard but his boss theme is the best music in the entire game

Also Mora is the best character and most fun boss fight in Ori And The Will Of The Wisps

Yes I like invertebrates

I can't stand the bosses in Bug Fables though- the only reason I don't play it more is because you have to grind way too much

I went looking for duplicates, and this is the only topic on Things I'm Reading and Playing talking about just video game bosses.
There's a topic about the Easiest Video Game Bosses Ever, but that's talking about easy-to-defeat bosses, not bosses in general.
