(Ok maybe this dosen't belong in this forum, but i have seen so many people having problems with ipads that don't wanna open whatever you do, so i feel like i should post the answer here)

My IPad won't start, what should i do?

1. Make sure your IPad really don't wanna start, and not just in “suspended mode”

2. Make sure your IPad really don't wanna start, and not just totally out of power.

3. When you are done with step 1 and 2 follow theese instructions : (sometimes if it not works, try to do it several times)

1. Plug in the usb cable to your laptop (or any other USB exit that gives power) plug the other end to the IPad

2. Plug out the cable from the IPad, but don't plug out the USB Exit

3. Hold the Home button and the sleep/wake button down in minumum 10 secounds

4. Still hold in the two buttons, and plug in the cable to your ipad again.

5. And wolaah, your Ipad should start perfectly


NOTE :
This may not always work, if it not works for you, may i suggest to take your IPad to the nearest
Apple store.

(This tutorial, may also work on IPod/IPhone)

Only happens when your iDevice is jailbroken.

No, it don't need to be jailbroken, i tried it on one of my parents old IPad 1's and it worked perfectly, and we never jailbroke it.

This happened about twice on Dad's iPhone, basically holding down the lock button and home button force reboots it. It's the kind of thing you'd never know because you rarely need to. As I said, Dad's iPhone only froze twice in it's long life of over 2 years. My android tablet had to do this several times a day until the charging broke in less than a year.

this actually happened the other day with my ipod for the first time in 3 (?) years, it was just a white screen
the reset thing didn't work though, nor did plugging it into my laptop, but what i did was just let the battery drain overnight and then recharge it and it worked again

Ok, sorry just trying to fiddle with the reply thingy.

I remember this happened to my iPod touch about 2 days after I got it. I was truly terrified… We took it to the Apple store, the guy at the front held the buttons for a few seconds, then we left and I felt really stupid.

Although, maybe this could become a more general “tablet recovery” topic. For example, my Nexus 7 was killed by a Nokia Lumia charger (surely all micro USB chargers are the same? And don't worry, I won't call you Shirley) but its own charger brought it back to life.
