Sometimes new scratchers fiddle with the see inside page, I have flagged several projects because of this!

They press see inside, remix, and then share without making changes or realizing that they published a new project! (Or at least I think that's the case…)
Maybe some sort of warning message telling them that they are uploading a project, or make it harder to reach the share button. (Like only have it in the “file” menu.)
Should I stop flagging these kinds of projects?

No support. If it was in the file menu, and new scratchers actually wanted to share a project, they wouldn't be able to actually do it easily.

The program can tell when no actual change has been made since the last save, I say we just use that to block uploading of projects that haven't been changed since See Inside was clicked (if possible)

otherwise, I suppose you should just keep flagging projects that are COMPLETE ripoffs and move on

Good idea!

But it happens constantly! It's annoying, and I am worried it might happen to my projects! That's the last thing I want!

Okay, how about this:

Well, I wrote:

How about that, then?

You should flag copied projects. Project copying is not allowed and can result in a ban if done repeatedly.

But It's annoying! Will they get removed if complete duplicates for sure?

If the project is a complete duplicate and doesn't have the “Original project” field, and if you make a good explanation to the Scratch about why you're reporting it, I'm sure the Scratch Team will remove it. In the report, you need to give them a link to the copied project as well.

But keep in mind that Scratch is an educational website, and that a lot of kids use it. Some of them might be unaware that they're doing something wrong. Before reporting, I think it's a good idea to politely ask the person to give credits to the original creator of the project.

Okay, I will say that I'm actually a kid, and know this. I have flagged the project before telling them what they did, but won't anymore. By the way,

They are remixes, so they won't look completely original, but It's still annoying if you see someone remixed your project and your like, “Yeah! Someone remixed my project! I wonder what they added! Maybe they fixed a bug! That would be awesome!”, and then see that nothing at all was changed. Pleasepleaseplease don't happen to my project…

^Well, we do sometimes remove exact copies even if they have the remix attribution tag, depending on the circumstances. But yep, we do need a good report on what was being copied, including a link to the original project (especially when it comes to cases where the attribution tag has been removed or of the attribution tag links to a different project than what is intended). And asking politely to give credit or make changes to the project before flagging are helpful, too (given the new 2.0 environment, I've noticed that most New Scratchers are usually willing to add changes or unshare the project if someone explains to them what remixing is about).

All that being said: The project copying issue has a bit of a problem, and the ST is thinking about ways that can help prevent project copying; that being said, whatever the method should help prevent copying while making it easy to remix projects. A message pop-up before sharing is one of the ideas that the ST has been thinking of to help prevent this problem.

If it is a completely duplicate for sure, yes. Copying projects are not qualified as a remix and is NOT allowed as it will be the credit that should have belonged to someone else.
For more information about Project Copying, you can read more about it here.

You could make a share button that requires you to enter your password and username. Then, you could make a automatic remix comparing tool that compares the remix and the original project (when you click share) while knowing your username and the original project author's username. Then, if it is a copy, it could just say:
Error. You have attempted to copy a project. Please make changes before sharing.
That is my suggestion to prevent copying(like a censor system).

The remix is not a copy, the costume is changed, it is just that that scratcher did not give credit.

Oh, then that is a problem. But when you become a Scratcher, you can!

(Pssst. If someone laughs at you for what you did, just report them. They can do better things than laughing at you.)
