Legend of Korra

Thought I'd post this up, as no one else has yet. (Forgive me if I'm wrong.)

Anyways, as you can plainly see, this is a discussion thread regarding The Legend of Korra, the sequel to The Last Airbender. Book One was pretty decent overall, especially in the animation department. The premise was also quite satisfying. I just think some characters required more development and that the show should cease focusing on too much love triangle drama.

On another note, to get this topic going:
  • Favorite characters?
Lin Beifong and Amon.
  • Favorite episodes?
The Revelation, And The Winner Is…
  • Which do you prefer: A:TLA or LoK?
While I prefer the animation – as well as the look and feel – of LoK, A:TLA did manage to handle character development better… even in the first book. Book Two of Korra stills looks promising, so I hope to see better development there.
  • Better central antagonist: Amon or Ozai?
Amon. Less of a one-dimensional archetype. He had reasonable goals and demonstrated his abilities on those who actually did abuse their bending to an extent. Even despite the somewhat (forgive me) lackluster finale, Amon's last moment being reunited with his brother shed new light on his character.

(Note: I thought adding GIFs would spice this thread up a bit. If they lag the page too much, just tell me.)

Favorite Characters?
Korra and Lin Beifong.

Favorite Episodes?
And the Winner Is . . ., Skeletons in the Closet, Endgame.

Which do you prefer: A:TLA or LoK?
I like them about equally. Like you said, A:TLA did handle character development better, but the feel and animation of LoK is better in my opinion. When LoK started airing, I didn't really care for it because I didn't like how technology had advanced in their world since A:TLA. Now I'm completely fine with it.

Better central antagonist: Amon or Ozai?
Amon, for the same reasons you said.

I miss The Legend of Korra since it's been nearly a year since Book One ended. I hope it's not too much longer before Book Two begins.
Also, the GIFs don't seem to lag at all. But then again, I have a pretty fast computer and it can handle that sort of thing.

I actually re-sized the GIFs to decrease lagging and make space.

I'm not gonna fill out the thingy because probably all of my answers would be me unable to decide anything. Sorry

But I did dislike the fact that LOK has more advanced technology, and that it lost the whole ‘traveling’ feeling that A:TLA, for some reason, I liked that very much in A:TLA.

But I really do like LOK, but Book 2 is taking forever to come out! We should be getting some more information at SDCC on July 19, so….

A lot of people I know who are Avatar fans don't like Korra for some reason.

I don't know why, either. It has an awesome storyline and an even cooler industrial steampunk-esque setting.

I guess it's the big change in time and setting?

Probably because it's so different. I can see why they don't, but I don't agree with them. Of course, everyone has their own opinions, but it's a different story from A:TLA, though still pretty amazing
