Show Possible Duplicate Posts

I've noticed a lot of duplicate posts, especially in the New Scratchers and QAS forums, and I think they could be removed with a simple feature.

Now, if you've ever used StackOverflow to ask a question, you'll have seen that, as you type a title for your post, it creates a list of possible other posts that yours might be related to, or could already have an answer on.

It looks like this:

I think that If Scratch had a similar feature, so as you typed your title, it displays other topics with similar titles, It would stop a lot of duplicates.

Maybe also reminding users that their question probably already has an answer in the stickies.

So, basically, when a user types their title in, it suggests a list of other topics that might already have what they're after.

Looks like a brilliant idea, I support. I totally agree that there are far too many duplicate topics flying around.

If you support, it should be +1. If you don't, it should be +0, not -1. If you half-support, it should be +1/2 or +0.5, not +0. You can't subtract from the supporters.

It wouldn't be tricky at all. Just read through the titles of all current topics (which will probably be on a database on the server) and compare those with everything that the user has already written.

Yeah, it's pretty missleading. Plus please stop bumping after 20-30 minutes it's very rude.

This is a great idea! I support this - it can be pretty useful when I make a new topic.
