Ebookworm: Develop a story, direct and create interactive ebooks collaboratively

Welcome to Bookworm Studios.

Bookworm Studios is a group for people to put together an help others put together scratch project based ebooks.Anyone can make a scratch ebook. All you need is scratch, and something to put in the ebook.
We have a gallery for scratch ebooks here which contains a tutorial for making scratch ebooks. It has lots of ideas to show how easy it is to put something into an ebook. It is slightly out of date, but you'll ge the ideas that are important
It also has a brilliant set of templates by Whisperfur
What We Do
There are many forms of beings member of this studio. To join as an author, you must have at least an idea for an ebook. To join as an illustrator, you must be ready and willing to take requests for art from an author. To join as an agent, you must be good at advertising other peoples work. You must be able to read it and publicise it around scratch.
We don't just do ebooks though.
If you want to make a scratch audiobook, a voice artist can join to take on requests of readin other peoples work, naturally, performing out all the voices.
We also affectionately refer to interactive ebooks as popups. For these, an author can ask programmers, artists, musicians, and animtors to help with an interactive story.
Finally, there are scratch videobooks, with a story shown in cutscenes and videos. For these, an ambitious author can pull together a group of visual artists, animators, voice actors, and musicians to pull together a collaborative video form of a book.
This is only reccommended for ebooks that are already popular in some other form though c

Other Jobs:
These jobs are earned, not asked for. Do not ask or you will totally annhialate any of your chances for ever getting one of the posts everAdmin: if an author hasn't got a full story together yet, or if someone just needs help, admins are helpful people who. Well. Help.
Organisers: If it sounds like an author has a lot of work to do from Reading this post so far, getting people together when they approach us with a project idea, they do, but these guys/girls help pull people together and organise.

Owners:
the owners are the people who check everything's going smoothly. The owners are the founding members. Owners can have a deputy if they wish. To be a deputy owner, you must already be an admin or an organiser.
Owners:
Waffle- Head brainstormer
cheeseater-head librarian
Whisperfur-head admin
Nomolos- head organiser
Mintfang-head artist
(humhumgames)-head owner (ultimately original creator, now rarely active. Not owner, but still reserves right to claim back ownership at any time)
pinnipediator-the other one-head ache
The Gallery
Cheeseater owns the Gallery library. Every month, the studio library has a best thing in the gallery award. If there is more than one type of new thing in the gallery, like three ebooks, two audios and a popup, there will be an overall and a best of each catagory. all projects made in this studio have a place in the gallery. There will be a forum gallery shortly.
Multitaskers
only sign up for what you can do. If you can't do something, post here. We won't mind. There should always be someone else. If yore just taking ages though, that's fine, as long as you tell us you're going to take ages. On average though, a maximum average deadline should be about two weeks. Exceptions exist, especially where visual artists, musicians and authors are concerned.

How to join:
fill in the right app for you below.
Who can join:
anyone who doesn't hope to do a lot of programming who is nice and social and friendly.
There is an app for people with ideas to develop. There is also an app for people with skills to help people with ideas, like editors, visual artists artist, animators, voice artists etc.
Every time you have an idea you fill of an idea app. You could have had 50 ideas a week for a year but every time there's a new one, new app.
app for authors:
what is the name of your idea?:
Describe it in no more than 500 words. Give a word count at the bottom.:
what do you want to do with your idea (e.g. Audiobook, ebook, video series) :
are you willing to put in minimum every other day input until this idea is completed?
Are you willing to work with who the organisers put you with to acheivements your goal, whoever they may be, whatever their skill level in your opinion, because you trust that only reasonably good people or better are allowed into this collaboration?:
do you promise not to come up with disrespectful (to anyone) ideas, rude, suggestive or otherwise?
Permenant members app:
what are your skills? (editing, visual artist, musician, animator, etc)
Rate each one honestly on a scale of one to ten.
Do you promise to work alongside anyone, respecting others?
Do you promise to tell us if your level of activity will change, or if your workload is too high?
How active will you be on a scale of 1to 10 (10 being twice daily, 1 being every other week, hint, be honest, hint 2, we'll only accept you over 4 (twice a week roughly))
Please consider joining! Quote this post and look at it to find banner codes for awesome Bookworm Studios ReBoot Banners! Where being a bookworm is cool because only awesome people are and it doesn't necessarily mean just books!

Yay, the new thread looks cool
I should probably write an ebook soon, however the forces of procastination, exams and tamagotchi are working against me :0 (Yes, tamagotchi, i found it while clearing out old rubbish and it's addictive D: )
However i will definitely try to do one in the next week, i'm thinking about an bit Alice in wonderland, steampunky sort of plot.
Also i'm not organised XD
I think Waffle should be allowed to be an admin or organiser if she/he wants?
yeah, )_(^_^)_(

Drat. I knew I'd forgotten someone.
sorry waffle!
I am kicking myself, or I would be, I just changed tracks to some dubstep to punish myself. Much much worse than kicking (why why do I have dubstep infecting my iPod? I have no idea. Why? Don't ask. I don't know.)
I'd better change that post.
*wince*
*wub wub wub*
*cringe*
we'd better come up with some cool things to make e-stuff about. Technically, we could make amvs, as setting poetry to music then adding a video would mean, if anyone has poetry, I could put it to music (good practice for my upcoming theory exam) and then we could make a video. Just a thought, if it inspired anyone.
I'll change the topic name too. Bookworm studios could tend to put people off.
EbookWorm ReBoot can be our new completely different name until further notice, or until some author comes at us with ideas to develop.
EDIT: we'll just change the topic name. Not the banners. Hopefully we can interest more people.

New member here. This looks interesting, and I'm a fairly experienced writer.
Application for authors:
What is the name of your idea?: Eurel.
Describe it in no more than 500 words. Give a word count at the bottom.: The story is based around the concept of being frozen in time, except this time it's literally.
A long time ago, there lived a city by the name of Eurel. Secluded from everyone else in a forest, Eurel represented the advancement of human civilization, to the point of being able to manipulate the elements. The city itself was magnificent, the epitome of nature and technology's mix.
The city, however, was constantly besieged by countless other nations, from Nearach to Secil, all eager to take control of the city. At one point, the city was almost completely destroyed. It was only saved through the actions of the then King Ninou, who cast a spell over the city, protecting it from harms tenfold his own power, at the cost of his life. Eurel worried for ages over who was to succeed him, since the Queen, Arani, was far too physically weak.
That person was the then Princess Cermandes, known to all Eurel as “The Sharpshooter”. She was a marvelous marksman, her aim so legendary that she could shoot a crossbow, shoot another, and have the second arrow cut clean through the first arrow. Wielding the elements lightning and light, she was, to the people of Eurel, a godsend, and she soon ascended to the throne.
For a time Eurel was safe, defended by Queen Cermandes. That was until the Black Mage, Jannes, intervened.
Jealous of Eurel's prowess, Jannes cast a magic spell on Eurel, making all the inhabitants of Eurel doomed to die. Queen Cermandes, moved by compassion for her people, cast her own magic, which froze all of them in time, saving their lives.
Queen Cermandes knew that a time would come for her to break free, but not now…
Fast forward to today. No one now knows that Eurel exists, but Queen Cermandes had a little trick up her sleeve.
Using the last of her powers before freezing Eurel, she managed to implant an urging to go to Eurel in the air, not to be activated until the right time.
“What better time than now?”
(345 words, wordcounter.net)
What do you want to do with your idea (e.g. Audiobook, ebook, video series) : I'm thinking an Ebook would be good.
Are you willing to put in minimum every other day input until this idea is completed? Yes.
Are you willing to work with who the organisers put you with to acheivements your goal, whoever they may be, whatever their skill level in your opinion, because you trust that only reasonably good people or better are allowed into this collaboration?: I trust whatever judgement that may be dealt out upon me.
Do you promise not to come up with disrespectful (to anyone) ideas, rude, suggestive or otherwise? All ideas I will create will not be disrespectful in any manner. That I can easily promise.

Good plan. I like that idea. First, you'll need to choose themes and designs. Look at the tutorial in the gallery an the templates. Choose what sort of designs you want. Start choosing how much sound and illustration you'll want.
Once you've made all those decisions, we can allocate artists, organisers etc. Also, after choosing your design for pages (slide, double page spread, single spread, something else), start writing it very basically into a text sprite on scratch. Choose where you want to begin and end the chapters. Once you have a nice basic story, written out into a text sprite, we can design pages and stuff, and then add illustrations according to the story. You do the first bit, as long or as short as you like. Make the decisions first though.

Pinni- Thanks for making me head artist! I'm having a horrible life right now, and that really helped me.
HAHA I just got an idea for an ebook! A girl, in fifth grade, who is bullied and ignored. She's basically the scrapegoat of her school, but she wants to do something about the main bully in her life. His name is Brandon, and he's the principals son and head honcho of the jocks. Teachers treat him like he's an angel, but they treat Emily- the girl- like she has special needs and dosen't matter. When someone else does something, and then she does it too, she's the one who gets yelled at. When someone else does something wrong, the teacher tells them off and then jokes with them. When Emily gets in trouble, the teacher just yells at her. No joking, no hugs, no forgiveing. Just yelling.
Oh wait, I forgot, that's the story of my life. I'll write it anyway.
