New Single - "Put It in Your Head" by Diyath Yavin
Following the success of my previous single that received radio airplay, “Put It in Your Head” is more of a return to slightly harder edged rock. The song deals with a failing relationship represented in the image of a band, and is essentially about moving out and starting life on one’s own. It was composed and recorded earlier this year in March, and was thereafter left in the production process for a while. This song was released to coincide with the three year anniversary of Frozen Coco’s first single. One more single from the triple album will be released soon, just before the record comes out, so stay tuned for that!

Great song. I was particularly saddened by the break-up of Frozen Coco, so this is almost completely emotional to me.

I can see why it is emotional for you, in relation to the subject matter of the song. Glad you liked it! Great song. I was particularly saddened by the break-up of Frozen Coco, so this is almost completely emotional to me.

I loved the intro to this song! I think all of the instruments work very well together, and that the song is very well thought out.
I think my only criticism is that I found the quality of the vocals a little odd…? Maybe because they were a little echoey. I would have preferred a more clear, solid sound.
Overall, another great job, Diyath! Congrats on the release of your fifth solo single

Echo-ey you say? I'd probably put it down to the vocals being triple-tracked in certain places, with additional harmony in other parts too. I guess this kind of thing is a matter of preference, but I'll keep your comments in mind for the next release. Many thanks again, and cheers!

I'm pretty much in agreement with KalinaStar. The instruments are very good and pleasant to the ear. The lyrics are decent and the singing quality okay, I just don't like what I think is some effect you've applied to it.
EDIT: You've stated what the voice thing is. The harmonies are fine, but the triple tracking is just detracting I think.

EDIT: Yep, it's the triple tracking I'm drawn to believe. It hasn't been raised by my other listeners until now tbh, which I'd put down to matter of preference, but your comments will certainly be considered in the future.

Okay, not the first time I've listened to one of your songs, but I've been pretty lazy in posting any reactions.
First of all, I actually quite enjoy the triple tracking. I feel that the vocals wouldn't have the presence they had without it.
Some of the vocals sound like they were spoken, rather than sung, but that's just my opinion. And it was effective, so not really a complaint.
I feel one of the harmonies wasn't right, but I don't know how to explain it..
I really liked the song however.

How many guitar tracks do you record?
I've always been back and forth on the subject; I always record 3 guitars and dupe one for the middle (it makes it easier for me to get likeable mixing settings) on clean or acoustic guitars, while recording 4 if it's a distortion

I've been listening to…
Ogre Battle // Queen // Queen II // Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Progressive Metal
Orion // Metallica // Master of Puppets // Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, Instrumental
Damage Inc. // Metallica// Master of Puppets // Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal
Snow (Hey Oh) // Red Hot Chilli Peppers // Snow (Hey Oh) // Soft Rock, Acoustic
Who Wants To Live Forever // Queen // A Kind of Magic // Power Ballad, Soft Rock
I suggest you listen to…
For a influential playlist: Damage Inc and Orion. Both of these songs are part of the album that revolutionized heavy and thrash metal forever.

Yeah, a lot of other listeners seem to think that the triple tracking adds more presence to the song, although it depends from person to person. It was written as a spoken narrative, so it's nice to know you thought it effective. Thanks for the feedback. It depends from song to song. For this one, I believe I tracked four guitars, including two channels that inter-played between lead and rhythm at certain points. There's a subtle acoustic in there, especially noticeable in the chorus, a clean rhythm, and the two over-driven lead/rhythm channels. Certain songs of mine go well beyond ten guitar tracks, though. How many guitar tracks do you record?

Yeah, I noticed the acoustic; it gave me the same feel as the background acoustic to Hero of the DayIt depends from song to song. Not to offend you, but I don't think you should charge over 3 dollars for a digital track. That wouldn't be a reasonable price even if you were a popular established artist…
The instrumental is nice (though the lead guitar is a little loud & has maybe a bit much bass) but I'm not that into the vocals. The lyrics about Frozen Coco are alright.

Yeah, I love the acoustic backgrounds in Hero of the Day that almost act like percussion, as do yours :D“Hero of the Day” by Metallica? Lol, are you seriously suggesting that a purely online musician would expect to be amongst the top on the global charts on a site of 3.6 million artists?
The local rank is calculated from an aggregation of music and video plays/follows/likes/comments etc. across an artist's music sites that count for points to determine a rank, which still factors in thousands of musicians.
