The CoC Collab [Hiring!]
Welcome to the Clash of Clans Collaboration!
Our Aim
- Our aim is to create a version of Clash of Clans, the popular iOS/Android game, in Scratch.
- Our secondary aims are to improve our collaboration skills;
- To improve our Scratch abilities;
- And to have fun in a friendly, focused environment!
Please note that this collab is partners with Cloud Gaming Central.
Why should I join?
Before I say anything, I would like to warn other Scratchers who are considering joining this collab. It will be hard; it will be long; it will test us constantly, both as Scratchers and as people. Make no mistake, this collaboration isn't suited to quitters, slackers, busy or indeed sane people. But personally, I feel that when I come out of it, having been tested and passed, having argued and toiled, having talked and laughed, I know I will feel a better Scratcher and person. This isn't a project; it's a labour of love, a tribute, a personal quest. I would love to work with every single Scratcher out there, but I regret to say that you'll need a passionate belief, a high level of insanity and an empty schedule to participate. But if you feel that you can survive being tested to the core, that you really care about making this collab fly and you want to work with other like-minded people, then this collab is for you!
How do I join?
Fill out the application form below and post it in this thread. A Director will review your application; if they think you'd be suited to this collab, you'll be placed on the Waitlist. After a few days, potential members on the Waitlist will again be reviewed, and either accepted into the CoC Collab itself, left on the Waitlist to be re-reviewed in a few days, or turned down and removed from the Waitlist.
If you're an existing member and wish to be promoted to Director (see below for an explanation of the rank), fill out the director form below and post it here, where the Directors will vote on your promotion. You'll be notifed of our decision in this thread and this post will be edited if necessary to accomodate your new rank. Good luck!Application Form

Current Tasks:
Everyone:
Check out our swaggy studio!
Artists:Programmers:
- Combine all the art we have so far into a single project. See me (bookworm) for details.
- Work on a cloud engine where all the buildings are clones of a single template sprite. See AmericanCoder123 for details.
- Create a sub-program to handle attacking other players. See moi (bookworm) for ideas, see AmericanCoder123 for help.
Writers:
- Code a cloud saving system or modify another Scratcher's (with permission) - possibly ask Firedrake969 to use his.
Advertisers:
- Work on a game introduction and possibly text for a teaser. See me (bookworm) for details.
- Spread the word about the CoC Collab reopening - we've had a facelift! Use our signatures for effect - see below.

As for projects you can be proud of. . . surely you already have some great ones? But anyway, that's what we're going to try and make!
Edit: Yes, I made you a member straight away. I've seen your input to other collabs and leadership of your own.

I'm thinking about ways to efficiently store mass data in the cloud and the topic of modular arithmetic and cryptography came to mind. We could potentially implement a small scale RSA encryption algorithm being used in an interesting way to accomplish what we want to do with data. For example let's say that we have a directory of clans that contains an encrypted number which stores the data for the clan. If the private key used for decryption can be accessed by any copy of the game, so anyone can view the clan's information, and the public key used to encrypt the information is only accessible by the copy of the game being ran by people in the clan, the people in the clan can edit things about their clan such as members, while everyone else's copy of the game can see the info but not edit it. If this confused you, please ask me questions, and I will be making a project to demonstrate it soon, I have 3 more days of school.
Edit 1: I have began work on the system. The first step in the encryption is to choose two random prime numbers, so I have generated all primes 3 - 20,000 and there are 2,261 of them and since 2,261 choose 2 is 2,554,930 there can be 2,554,930 values of n and a countless amount of numbers that are relatively prime to any of those numbers so we are looking at an almost infinite amount of different encryption and decryption keys using a rather small list.

Great! I recently read up on public/private key security so I understood that (I think ). I'll be looking forward to seeing it in action! Oh, I'll check that account out then. Would you like to remain as HarryB178 on the first post, or would you rather I changed it to SoldierH?Accepted! Nickname (if applicable): HarryB178
