This would add a new item to the “SCRATCH | Create | Explore | Discuss | Help |” menu. It would be “Apps.” There would be different categories of apps. I will sort the descriptions by category:

Scratch Media Editors
So you can use them for things not Scratch projects without making a new project.

Costume Paint Editor
The costume paint editor is just like the one in the editor and it includes the backpack too, so you can save to your computer or to the backpack, and you can drag stuff out of the backpack too. Costumes only of course though. You can do both bitmap and vector.

Backdrop Paint Editor
Same for the backdrop one.


Sound Editor
The sound editor + backpack. Sounds only of course.

Scratch Project Recorders
People have wanted to be able to save their projects to videos.

Video Recorder
Sort of a way of converting projects into videos. You pick one of your projects and then you get a project player of it with another button in the terminal, a red circle in a video record crosshair thing. (By the way you can't fullscreen the player.) If you don't know what I'm talking about here's a picture. It's the one on the left. You can do whatever you want in the project but when you push that it lights up like the others do and it starts recording, also indicated with some text to the right of the project player that says “Recording…” When you're done recording your project, you click the record button again to stop. The text “Recording…” is replaced by the length of your recording (mm:ss) and two buttons: “Delete Recording” and “Continue.” The delete button deletes your recording and lets you click the record button to restart. The continue button continues to a page with a trimmer player (to trim off the beginning or end of the video) and a “show mouse-pointer” checkbox. There is a “save to file” button so you can save it. Videos you play as preview in the trim player and the final exported video don't show the GF etc. terminal bar.

Sound Recorder
Same as the video recorder, but for sound only. Helps for music projects. The record button looks like the one on the right here instead of the one on the left. There is of course no “show mouse-pointer” checkbox.

EDIT: Send to app button: There should be a “Send to app” option in the loves, favorites, etc. toolbar in your own projects. You can pick an app that accepts a project (currently the recorders but not the editors) and hit “Go” to go to the app with the project.
