Btw any thought on Parrot Os Security?
Never heard of it before - searched it up and it seems like another one of those security, privacy and testing systems. There's quite a few Linux distributions that are installed with tools specialised for testing of networks or for extra privacy.
One of the newer ones too. I like the desktop background a lot.
Just use Arch.

I'm a longtime Debian user who switched to Manjaro some months ago. Works very nicely, I didn't have nearly as many driver issues as with Debian, software is readily available (on their own repos + access to AUR) and updated often. I suppose they're less strict with respect to stability and FOSS philosophy. But all I do is read and print .pdf documents, type course notes in LaTeX, maybe crunch some numbers in Python/SageMath and play really old FPS games, so I don't need much.

Hello Sir can I interest you in Arch Linux.
Arch is a powerful distribution of Linux, and a really fun install process. It's a barebones machine, configured your way so the naughty-naughty FBI don't steal your data.

Oh I know about that. I managed to install it in a VM once but no way I'm using it as my main OS, I'm a busy person. Privacy is not a concern for me since I don't live in the US, I don't use social networks and my country's intel agencies are incompetent anyway

How to into switch to Linux distro without completely screwing up your daily life?

Either Arch or Parrot, idk. So long as I can switch back to windows if the need comes.

Dual boot your computer
Or a VM if you feel less confident in Linux rn

Imma just install Arch and drop windows for good.

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 78.0.3904.87, Flash 32.0 (release 0) Just droppin this real quick for reasons.

I mean if you know everything you want to do with your computer can be done on Arch, are ready to do a bunch of CLI stuff and are sure that you're ready to use a different OS then go ahead.
Also take this.

bump

A lot of people get scared from the Arch Linux setup. Should they change it so it is less scary and have it run through a setup where you select the options?

No. Deliberately keep setup intimidating so that you feel like a higher level hackerman when you've configured Arch to your preference
