PESO ScratchPaper <|We have moved on to http://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/42482/ Meet us there!|>

PESO FANS! We have moved on to a different forum topic now due to change in ownership, head there now!

Due to name change the banners need replacing. If you can make them for us, please contact a Co-leader.

Hello, and welcome to Programming Every-So-Often! For those who know us a PW, we will now be called PESO. This is a newspaper for reporting on not only Scratch news, but news in technological breakthroughs, achievements and all sorts of things along those lines! After months of inactivity due to the leaving and inactivity of scratchers, cheeseeater finally decided to try again. If everyone puts in effort, we can become as successful as ScratchPress and Scratchin' Weekly (SW was run by most of the old PW team)

Ground Rules
First off, we're invoking a 3 strike policy. Strikes will only be administered by the co-leaders The co-leaders will give strikes to those who break the rules that will be set below. First rule breaking, a warning. Second, a strike. Due to the circumstances, though, either of us may decide to give you a strike on the spot or immediately suspend you from the collab.

First strike: Collab suspension for a week.
Second strike: Two weeks.
Third strike: One month.
Fourth strike: You will be released from the collaboration.

Rules:
1. Be courteous at all times.
2. Get your work done on time. If you are by any means unable to complete your work (other commitments, real life things, etc.), report it to us and we will understand.
3. By no means will we have any unnecessary arguments. Remember: There's a difference between discussions and arguments. Discussions are considered apposing views being debated in a polite matter, whereas arguments are when Scratchers are fighting.
4. No spam.
5. Hassling others for any reason is not tolerated.

Everyone understand? Alright, adhere to these, and we'll be a smooth-running collab.

Sign Ups!
We will divide the jobs into teams. This is so every shares the workload. Teams will be managed by the Co-leaders. You may not boss your team without good reason.

Yep! If you write in notepad and copy and paste it into a post and post it here, then the Publishing team can sort it.

Minecraft server review – Tiki-Craft

Minecraft is the fairly recent game that is sweeping the world. It has been made for many different platforms such as: Windows, IOS, Raspbian, Linux, Xbox, PS3/4, however the progress for the different versions varies. One of the key features of the computer version is the ability to join multiplayer servers. It is possible to have multiplayer sessions on the game consoles, however this depends on the systems in-built share settings.
Today I will be reviewing a server made by the Scratcher, Northmiester. It is called Tiki-Craft, and you can join the server at ‘mc.tiki-craft.com’, and see the website at ‘tiki-craft.com’.
Tiki-Craft, is non-PVP (non-PVP means players can’t hit each other. However in this case there is a designated area for PVPing) and is in survival mode, it has its own currency too. Members have set up towns with houses to buy, and there are plenty of place to get building. The server has its own forests for wood, and a XP farm. The staff are friendly and the players are helpful when you join. You always get a nice welcome!
The website boasts 4GB of RAM and 25GB of SSD space. It also says ‘no lag’, however sometimes the server can glitch and have very low Frames Per Second, sometimes reaching 2 FPS. I think this is a problem at my end though, as no other players have these issues. It is recommended by us that you run Minecraft with plenty of RAM, and on a desktop PC, as laptops are hard to use and get very hot with only one fan.
When you first join, you are given the title of ‘Lonely Peasant’, though if you complete the ‘trial’ you are given the title of ‘Average Joe’. The ‘trial’ consists of a maze, a ‘parkour’, and a quiz, to test the wannabe member.
Over-all I would give Tiki-Craft an 8 out of ten, as it can become slightly confusing sometimes and the trial to become an ‘Average Joe’ is hard with low FPS.

Sure! Welcome to the team! Here is what I think we should do: Every issue we should have an update of the template, the thing that people read the news from. If you remix this, and keep adding really cool changes to it every week (like better colours and features) I can have a look and copy them into the next paper! Have a look at the template above and tell me what you hink you can improve and how.
Thanks, cheeseeater
