Did you see the Metroid Prime 4 teaser trailer that was revealed during E3? It looks like it'll be cool…
Also, the 3DS one; Metroid: Samus' Return or something like that (I forget the name).

I am so hyped!

…but I really need to finish playing the Prime trilogy… (I have the collection on the Wii)

Also, I'm dubbing Samus Returns as Another Another Metroid 2 Remake (A2M2R).

Hey, um. I'm kind of interested in the 2D Metroid games. Which one would be a good starting point if I deide to play one? Zero Mission, Fusion, or Return of Samus (the one on the original Game Boy).
Not really interested in Samus Returns.
Super Metroid and the original for NES are a tad bit intimidating for me.

(Seriously though, if you're getting in to Metroid, play Zero Mission first, because it's by far the friendliest, then you can try some of the other ones like Super)

I recently started playing Super Metroid, and so far it’s great!

I have metroid 1 & 2 on my 3DS there fun.

metroid prime 4 is restarting development because you gotta get that high quslity

Since nothing's really happening I'll post my hot takes and see if it gets something going:

Metroid (NES): I can see why it was popular but it is so dated at this point it's honestly terrible
Return of Samus: Never played
Super Metroid: physics are bad but otherwise the game is fantastic, especially the second time through (which is a rare thing)
Metroid Fusion: really good. I can see why people wouldn't like how linear it is and it's a hard game, but both the atmosphere and level design are great
Metroid Prime: first metroid game I ever played. Outstanding top to bottom.
Zero Mission: physics are perfect and the game is great UNTIL you get to the zero suit section, which is trial-and-error and stinks. However, before and after that are about as good as 2D metroid can get
Prime 2 Echoes: I don't like the dark world, but that atmosphere is even better than the first prime otherwise. Spider guardian made me ragequit, the only time in my entire life I've ever done that
Prime 3 Corruption: not as good as first two prime games, but still pretty good
Other M: literally the worst game I've ever played. horrible in every way, although the graphics the best I've ever seen on the Wii
Samus Returns: never played

anybody got any thoughts?

I like to pretend the Prime series doesn't exist and that AM2R is official… which, if it was, it'd be my favorite Metroid game
