Welcome to Our Official Scratch Development Thread! Otimus is an epic MMORPG where thousands of players will be able to convene and participate in huge group battles, arena PvP, exploring a huge virtual world, running shops and marketplaces, leading nations, and using a host of player skills such as cooking, blacksmithing, carpentry, etc. The project is revolutionary, based on the monstrous size of the project and the incredible amount of work that the development team will have to place into it. Therefore, we are embarking on a quest to find the most experienced and dedicated scratchers! Our mission is to create the most revolutionary and full-featured 2-dimensional massive roleplaying game through the help of a team of elite developers. Planned Releases

Our pathway for development is anticipated to last for a duration of four years. Otimus 0.2 will be released on the Scratch Community by the year 2014 (Date may change), Otimus 0.3 will be developed based on the scratch version and made closed-source for download on the Android App Market/iOS App Store by 2016 (Date may change), the last platform development will take place as an executable playable on Windows by the year 2017. (Date may change)

Current List of Tasks

1) Scrolling Engine - One sprite, each costume is a 480 x 360 map tile or other size, easily customizable, 4-way or all direction scrolling, must be highly efficient!

2) Title Screen - Uses DanCStudio's background Must have login, instructions/help, options and register buttons!

3) Graphics Development - In need of sprites: Player sprite, backgrounds, npcs, and objects.


*When these tasks are completed, I'll compile them into our first release of Otimus! With each version comes a new list, and eventually we will finish the project! Managers are in charge of compiling the tasks that they assign to each of their team members, they will present the completed task to me! All persons will be given credit, recognition and great fame for their work!

Yes, the java version will be made with the java programming language. Using LibGDX, a game engine based off of the Lightweight Java Game Library (LWJGL), in conjunction with the server and server socket classes.
