I want it. It's been getting good reviews, and the toy box mode looks awesome. I might get it for Christmas.

It's not a Skylanders clone AT ALL. The only similarity is the toy gimmick. Everything else is different.

Imagine that it's 2004. You've just unboxed your second Gamecube after the first broke a few years back. You can't find any game at all on a downloadable game store. You realize you don't have the discs anymore. You can't play the game. Why is that a thing? The fact that you might not keep up with the physical media is not the problem with the business model.

And you don't NEED to buy the extra toys, it does unlock more content though (but everything can be beaten and such without extras). Therefore, the issue is preventable (and the toys will still exist, etc.)

You see it as a silly thing that adds some functionality to a game, Activision/Disney see it as MONEY, and little kids see it as an ACTION FIGURE. AKA the thing people expected children to buy before they were getting uppity about it being incorporated into a videogame. And, yes, my little brother actually DOES use them as action figures outside of playing the game.

The only thing I would say is that maybe have DLC versions of the characters at a discount for those who don't want the toys.

Also, Disney Infinity will be like the most expensive thing ever but I imagine my aforementioned little brother will cover the whole buying things part while I can just sit back and play when I want.

I don't care about the gimmick, iaps on the Ios aren't much worse.

It looks just like sky landers.

It's too much like Skylanders. I wouldn't be surprised if Toys for Bob/Activision took Disney to court over the very close similarity.

The only thing “suprising” about it is the toy box

The only thing similar is the toy aspect. Everything else is different. Skylanders is a dungeon crawler.

Agreed, the toy gimmick is so dumb. If they had them unlockable in the game, that'd be better.

Agreed, the toy gimmick is so dumb. If they had them unlockable in the game, that'd be better.

I wouldn't mind the toy gimmick as much if THEY WERE'NT SO DARN EXPENSIVE.

Beneath all the toy gimmicks, I think it's a solid game. Whilst the actual game is ok, I think the Sandbox is it's best part. I enjoy messing around with everything like you would in LBP, except in full 3D! If you're willing to spend money for the extra toys, then it's a must-buy. If not, then play ROBLOX.
