Are you having any problems with the paint editor? Here's a list of bugs and requested features in the paint editor that the Scratch Team knows about.

I hope to keep this thread updated frequently and cross out bugs as they get fixed, so feel free to contact me if you see anything out of date!

High Priority:

• Support for non-English characters in the text tool
  
• Grow and shrink buttons not working in bitmap editor if nothing selected
  
• Copy/paste selection in bitmap mode buggy
  
• Misalignment issues with image selection and stamp tool at higher zoom levels
  
• Duplicate costume doesn't work in bitmap mode
  
• Radial gradient fill in bitmap mode “stunted”

Normal Priority:

• Retain tool and color when switching between costumes in Bitmap mode
  
• Retain color and other settings switching between bitmap and vector
  
• Start of pen drawn line becomes straight on release of pen
  
• Arrow tool rather than pencil tool on existing costume
  
• Vector text on 1.4 projects should wrap
  
• Can't add new control points to solid shapes
  
• Differences in brush sizes between 1.4 and 2.0 bitmap paint editors
  
• Adding control point on solid shape acts strangely
  
• Paint bucket allows clear fill on stroke and inside of shapes
  
• Shrink and grow tools don't work in paint editor
  
• Paint new costume/sprite button doesn't work after using Import button
  
• Selected area around vector objects larger than object itself

• Keep shape options (solid or outlined) highlighted when shape is selected
  
• Cursor shape (pencil, etc) from paint editor are sticking in other parts of the interface
  
• Paint editor slows down if there are a lot of nodes
  
• Costume center button staying highlighted

• Auto-center the costume center, if not manually set

• Have duplicate tool in vector mode preview what it will duplicate on rollover
  
• Have cursors in paint editor indicate rotate, resize
  
• Change rainbow palette selection when choosing color with eyedropper tool
  
• Multiple fonts for the text tool
  
• Notify after switching between bitmap and vector
  
• Allow eyedropper tool to work on stage (and entire window, if possible)
  
• New icons to convey layering
  
• Add gradient fill to vector paint
  
• Larger eraser size
  

Low Priority

• Add rollover on width slider to say “line width” or “eraser width”
  
• Polished zooming/panning
  
• Media library of shapes
  
• Keep zoom the same when switching costumes within a sprite

In vector mode, I'm seeing a problem with the pencil tool. If I draw a letter L, it usually snaps to be a \ shaped line, a straight line between the start and end points. Somebody commented that this was previously fixed, but I'm definitely seeing it now, and I don't see this bug listed above.

this is a very good article now people can stop suggesting features that a lot of people already suggested for!

I can't fill in anything I draw in the vector editor!The bitmap is fine though.(<—-ignore that…it's working now….)

I can't put text on costume 10 and not have it overlap the text on the other costumes. Please fix this fast I am using Scratch for a school project that is due this week.

When I put in a vectored picture, even if I have vector on, it switches to bitmap. They need to fix that. |

When I right click costumes to copy and paste, nothing happens half of the time. And, when it doese work and I try to duplicate/delete a costume it duplicates or deletes a random sprite instead. The sprites do the same thing when I try to duplicate or delete them. Please fix this bug soon it makes making projects impossible beacause I cannot delete or duplicate!!!!!!!
NEW DISCOVERY:
Right click doese not work when clicking sounds, costumes, scripts, or anything. Scratch freezes sometimes from time to time. Scratch (or is it my computer on some issues maybe?) is giving me such a hard time I can't do anything I think I will take a break because I am very frustrated at the moment :@
ANOTHER NEW DISCOVERY:
“Paint a new costume” and “Paint a new sprite” is also broken. I cannot make or edit Scratch projects at all beacause it seems like nothing that I need works .

the same happened to me! It makes me so frustrated!… my worse problem out of all though is three colors from the color cube are allways covered by the bitmap/vector
annother prob.is that whenever i try to duplicate my costume it deletes that happened to my “untitled 4” three stinkin times!!!

There is something I didn't see in the list there. When I'm making a sprite's costume I need to got to script/audio to be able to make a new costume. And just now all of a sudden I can't make sprites and backdrop costumes. Do you know why?

I have found a bug that is not listed.
When I would do text it doesn't show up on the stage until I click on another tool and if you do text and click on new backdrop/sprite before clicking on another tool, the button freezes for atleast one minute

you must cover the text with a square that is the same colour as the background and try again.
{I know cause I have this problem}

Basically the editor is cutting off the bottom part of my large pictures. If I click “undo”, it returns the full image, but when I click “undo” again on another image to restore that to it's original full version, the first image is cut off again at the bottom. I daren't close my project encase I lose the bottom part of my images.

I tried saving it after each undo so that the first would not be affected, but instead it keeps getting cut off.

I didn't noticed this thread.
I had almost ALL the bugs listed above.
And today, I found a new one:
The scrolling bar disappear, and so, the image stay outside of the paint editor.
The one with the image that is cropped when you move it, I don't know if it's in the bug list, probably?
