Scratch App for iOS
(note: this is a very controversial and heated discussion, so leave if you don't want to get caught in it)
(note: I have very strong feelings about what devices to use, so this may sound a bit like a rant)
Mobile users are downgraded every day. I've seen very rude comments about mobile users like "mobile people suck and they don't deserve to be here". Android devices have the Scratch App, so why not iOS? Some people want to get the offline editor without having to spend thousands of dollars (note: I am not exaggerating, a MacBook Pro costs 1,200 USD or something around that) on getting a computer just to get it.
So what I'm proposing is that the Scratch Team makes a Scratch app for iOS. There would be some restrictions, as I'm sure with the Android app. (another note: I do not own any android devices, I'm just guessing) You wouldn't be able to make cloud variables, or use the backpack. You could upload them to the website like you do on the PC/Mac offline editors, but it would have more tweaks, which I will make a mockup of soon.
Opinions?

Sorry, but this won't happen.
Apple (who make iPhones) has already rejected Scratch (they don't allow many coding apps) and would not add it to the App Store.
Therefore it is impossible for the scratch team to make it happen (unless they make the editor responsive for safari)

Hmmm…. That's a lie. I looked at the App Store and searched “coding” There were 100+ apps.

2.5.2 Apps should be self-contained in their bundles, and may not read or write data outside the designated container area, nor may they download, install, or execute code which introduces or changes features or functionality of the app, including other apps. Educational apps designed to teach, develop, or allow students to test executable code may, in limited circumstances, download code provided that such code is not used for other purposes. Such apps must make the source code provided by the Application completely viewable and editable by the user.-App Store Review Guidelines

so basically apple hates education and loves making people spend 1,000 a year for the same phone with a new feature in the camera.

Scratch is one of them, on MacOS at least, so there is no reason, with the proper authorization, that if Scratch ever makes an mobile app designed for phones, it shouldn't be available on iOS.2.5.2 Apps should be self-contained in their bundles, and may not read or write data outside the designated container area, nor may they download, install, or execute code which introduces or changes features or functionality of the app, including other apps. I don't know what those limited circumstances are, but it might affect Scratch's presence on a desktop rather than mobile.

Unfortunately, this is out of the ST's control. I have no idea what exactly Apple based their decision on, and I agree that in an ideal world, there would be a Scratch App for iOS. However, Apple is the ultimate authority when it comes to their app store, so if they say no, that's it. It's a no.

So you're saying that Scratch isn't real code. If it wasn't real code, could we make animations here? No. Could we make games? No. Could we make art here? NO. All its purpose would be the forums, and a good bit of them would be kicked out! Scratch is coding, just under blocks.Maybe because you can't download or install code, and the code on the app isn't real code, just blocks. If ScratchJr got an app, why not Scratch! If the app is unchanged it will have the same result.

Take away the sharing from the app, but the user can download the project and share it from there, similar to the PC/MAC offline editor.
