It's a link to a project.
Not even rude. Pessimistic, but not rude.

Not literal scratch project. A project as in “An individual or collaborative enterprise planned and designed to achieve an aim”. Me and my language. -_-

Hello! I am a new person to scratch but I am a scratcher! I have a couple games I would like for you to look at! http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/12762753/ - My hidden object game called “Fantasy Find” and http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/12438998/ - A chase game called “”Cat N' Mouse Chase V 1.3"! Please tell me how I could improve the game, how to get the word out about them, and about any glitches! You are awesome! Thanks!

Fantasy Find

“Another one of my great games! A classic object finding game.”

Game Design 5/10
For an amateur, this is a decent project. It's the imagination and wit that make this stand out regardless of the quality of the project itself. Featuring a funny introduction that leads you into the game, followed by a simple, albeit easy item-finding game, this has actually held up well. However, because it was so easy, and because there was only one level, this really can't score high. Generally what happens in item games are you get levels that get harder and harder, which is what keeps the player addicted throughout the game.

Another way to do this is through the use of mazes, where the player must walk through a set of mazes looking for items. These could use clues to make the game that bit more challenging. Due to the lack of things to do, as well as the lack of addictiveness, this can only score an average score of five. The build up to it earns the first five points.

Originality 5/10
The actual game itself is not that original, and nor is the plotline. However, the addition of setting it in a castle, along with the fact that it has the funny introduction earn this a couple of points. To make this more original, it could have done with a variety of places to visit; more levels would have fixed this issue! Because it's an unoriginal game with an original twist, this has to score averagely again.

Ease Of Use 5/5
The game's very easy to work out how to play, and seen as there are no controls a tutorial is not required.

Difficulty Balance 1/5
This was way too easy, however an increasing difficulty arc that is followed through the levels would improve this.

Graphics 3/5
The graphics are mostly from the scratch resources. Whilst it's not a bad thing, this is not a great thing either. This would have scored a 2, but the teleportation effect earnt this an extra point. Homemade graphics are what make games more memorable, and when done properly they can look great., keep that in mind.

Sound 3/5
I would have scored this a two for the music that was from the scratch resources again. However, the voice acting earns this an extra point. Use google to find “Royalty Free Music”, which basically means you can use them as you wish.

Firing Round 5/10 (This is the addition of the following scores)
Reliability 2/2
0 (Very Glitchy) 1 (A few glitches) 2 (Hardly any glitches)
Game Length 0/2
0 (Too Short) 1 (Descent Length) 2 (Long lasting or endless)
Game Pace 2/2
0 (Very slow or too long for it's own sake) 1 (Quite engrossing) 2 (Very well paced and fun)
Replay Value 1/2
0 (Would never replay/ did not want to finish it the first time) 1 (Might replay) 2 (Too good to stop!)
Programming 0/2
0 (Simple to make) 1 (Fairly advanced) 2 (It was very complex)

Overall Experience 20/50
The introduction and the simple-but-fun gameplay saved this game, however not enough due to the lack of things to do. The lack of levels is the key issue here, along with the minor problems I spotted along the way. I had to score this quite low due to these problems, but they're easy to fix.

TOTAL: 47/100

Key
0-19 I could have made that in my sleep!
20-39 Needs a lot of work.
40-59 An average project I suppose.
60-79 Quite a cool project.
80-94 Wow! It only needs a bit of tweaking.
95-100 You're the top cat!

Thanks for reviewing my game! I will try to build off of this to make the game even better and try to have it reviewd again! I am in the progress of making new levels, and maby a map??? Do you think it would be better if Instead of Fantasy only, if it was a time travel theme???? I don't know, thanks for the constructive critisisim though! Also could I become a member? Thanks!

You vs. AI Soccer

“DESCRIPTION”

Game Design 5/10
“”I didn't find it that addicting. It's a fun game, for a while but the enjoyment wears off. It's slow, boring, and quite glitchy, especially when you and the AI is near the ball. AI is quite simply programmed, It just has a player moving towards the ball and once it has it, it moves towards the goal. I suppose the fact that it's 1V1 might justify this, because that's what I would do in a 1V1 game. It might be helpful to speed up the game, make the AI tougher and more intelligent, and fix the glitchyness when the player is near the AI. Design of the game does have some strong points- The AI works, captures the basic essence of a game of football, but those low points really bring the game down.

Originality 4/10
“”It's 1V1 football. Most sport games don't do well with originality because they're copies of real life games, this is no exception. The fact that there's a AI and I haven't seen many people bother with AI gives you a few points.

Ease Of Use 4/5
Game was really easy to pick up, well done! I thought the controls would be complicated because you're controlling 2 characters at the same time, but it seems simple enough to control the player and the goalie. You gave instructions on the side, but the In game instructions were difficult to read because they popped up for a few seconds. Maybe it would be better if you increased the time the instructions shown up?

Difficulty Balance 1/5
Game was too easy. The AI was too slow and the game basically consisted of pressing W and sometimes A and D to position yourself with the ball. I never felt threatened by the AI goalie. Next time speed up the AI, and make the ball a bit more random in terms of how fast it moves. Maybe make the player faster too. This would bring up the score a huge amount.

Graphics 2/5
Graphics were mainly limited to a background and a few dots. Other than that, not much. Football doesn't spin. I will give some praise for the background and the fact that the goals definitely stand out. Good job on that. Should've made them Vectors to keep quality. That might improve the score.

Sound 2/5
The music was there, but it really didn't sound like football. At a random point I heard a cough sound effect, and at the end you hear laughter. I really don't understand the music, but it is there and I must give you some points for putting music in the game. Maybe more fitting sounds/music might increase the score?

Firing Round 5/10 (This is the addition of the following scores)

Overall Experience 32/50
The game kind of made me excited when i scored a goal for the first few times but then it worn off because of how easy it was. I didn't hate the game, but I didn't like it either. I feel mixed on the game. Good job though, and good luck on your future projects! I look forward to looking at them!
