Why doesn't Scratch 3.0 support Pico Boards?

I know they stopped producing them, but what about people who already have them? Would they have to download Scratch 2.0?

A PicoBoard was a piece of hardware that allowed Scratch projects to interact with the outside world. Currently, it works on Scratch 1.4 and Scratch 2.0. It was discontinued in Scratch 3.0, with the new extensions being favored more. The PicoBoard could be ordered from SparkFun, but has been discontinued. The schematics and additional information are also available on that site. It was previously called ScratchBoard.

There wouldn’t be much point in supporting them still anyway, they’re discontinued.
They would have to install 1.4 or 2.0 (however, the blocks will be deleted in 3.0).

How did you try to download it, what OS were you using (version too), what Adobe Air version did you install, and what Scratch 2.0 version was it?

You can click the apple logo in the top left and it will have “About Mac”, which shows which MacOS ver you are running.
What did it say when you tried downloading it?
Also, you should say “Scratch 2.0 v461” then.

I heard it only supported flash so the picoboards need to be updated to JavaScript or HTML5 in order to bring them back.
